I'm on Dropbox 254.4.2518 on Windows 10 and I can't update to any newer version. Every time I manually try to install a newer version, it fails with error code -1073741819 and the message "Installation failed with an unknown error."
I've tried installing multiple newer versions using the standard installer, the full offline installer (Dropbox 258.4.3749 Offline Installer.x64.exe), and the Enterprise installer (258.4.3749) run normally and via msiexec with verbose logging enabled. The standard and offline installers all fail with the same error. The Enterprise installer exited without any error message at all, and the log file showed it completed with return value 0, but nothing actually changed on the system.
I've also done a full uninstall, manually deleted all Dropbox registry keys, attempted a clean install, and ran the Microsoft Program Install and Uninstall troubleshooter (MicrosoftProgram_Install_and_Uninstall.meta.diagcab). None of it has made any difference. The original error shows up every time with the standard and offline installers, regardless of which version I try. Worth noting that 254.4.2518 reinstalls cleanly every time. Nothing newer will install at all.
Has anyone else run into this, or does anyone know what else I can try?
