Hello! I'm actually having the same problem he might be! As of a few days ago, whenever I delete a folder, it will re-appear within 24 hours (usually overnight). I've looked around online and can't seem to find a concrete reason why that might be happening. The only thing that changed with Dropbox recently is I changed my email password, so I'm wondering if it has something to do with having to sign back in again? In any case, any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated -- thank you!

Which platform did you use in order to delete the folder? Did you do it through our website, desktop or mobile app?
Have you made sure that after you delete the folder, the changes successfully sync to your account across all platforms? So for instance if you use our desktop app to remove the file, can you check and confirm that it's deleted when you visit your account online too?
Also, are we talking about a shared folder, or not?

I have it on my Finder on Mac, so I believe that's the desktop app, yes? When this happened yesterday, I deleted them on Finder and they were still on the website, so I deleted them there and that seemed to work. However, I've always deleted DB files via Finder and never had any issue with duplicates until recently.
It is a shared folder, but, again, that's almost always the case and this hasn't come up before. Even though it's shared, 95% of the time, I'm the only one working out of it.

It sounds like you're experiencing a similar issue as the one described here. Can you check what was suggested in that thread, and let me know if you have any questions?
Keep in mind that since the files were successfully deleted when you used our website, I believe it might have to do with the changes not syncing, and the content re-appearing.
