Dropbox syncing doesn't work the way it used to

I don't know what y'all did recently, but as far as I can tell, it has ruined dropbox. Selective sync no longer actually synchs files, just make stupid cloud icons. Each time I try to access a file, and I have more than 15 GB of data I am analyzing, it has to first download the file. This make a program which was accessing data files for analysis take decades to run (not possible) instead of a few minutes. Why did you break it. I just want my selectively sync files and folder to actually live on my computer without having to do battle with your very unwise choices in changing how dropbox works.

Thank you for posting this. I have the same issue. I work with large files too and used selective sync a lot. The new dropbox update is just horrible, it makes working impossible. If the selective sync function isn't restored to the way it was (very soon), I will leave dropbox.

Hi @Steve T.21, thanks for messaging the Community.

Selective sync would prevent entire folders from appearing on your local machine completely, which doesn't sound like the feature you're referring to.

Are you referring to making files available offline on your machine? Have you tried the steps in that article?
