How can I sync files on Dropbox? The app doesn't do it automatically.

I looked up how to sync here on DropBox, but it looks like they still have the same instructions as it worked years ago. I have a brand new laptop and when I right-click on any of my Windows folders, I do not get "Quick Actions" or "Sync." I get a bunch of others, none of which is sync. I used to be able to sync things in the old DropBox. I don't know what happened to the user interface but it's completely confusing and not helpful. I don't even see the word "sync" anywhere. Please help, as I am saving files on one computer and need to open them on another.

Welcome back to our Community, @Mary V.2! Hope you’re doing well.

To further assist, can you clarify if you’re right-clicking on folders that are already located within your local Dropbox folder?

If yes, I’d like a screenshot of the options you see on your end.

Feel free to also share the current syncing status and app version of your Dropbox app.

Let me know once you have more info.

Dropbox has only ever sync'd files and folders that are directly stored within the \Dropbox directory. It did run a very small beta trial where it allowed other folders to be sync'd but that was removed quickly and its now not possible to do. I wonder if you were a part of that and its not picked it up until a reinstall?

Same issue here. I installed the newest version and there still is NO way to click "online only" for folders and files. It used to give the option inside File Explorer with a right click. Now it won't even work on the website version. All files are in the /Dropbox directory.

Would you mind clarifying what you're trying to accomplish?

Making a file "online-only" would only be possible from within your local Dropbox folder, not our website.

If you're right-clicking on a file and don't see this option, can you let us know more about your setup? Like, what's your Windows version and Dropbox app version?

You can see the latter if you hover over the Dropbox icon in your system tray.

A screenshot of the right-click options you see, would also be really helpful!

If you're still not seeing the context menu item to mark files as online-only, please let us know more with the information we requested.
Otherwise, if your issue has been solved, let us know what worked for you!

Hey dropbox team! you have this issue/bug for at least 2 years now! It's not "cloud" anymore! You need to click each "cloud" icon to download it manually. That's so wrong... How to make it automatic like it was from the beginning (and like every other cloud system works...)???

Just to make sure we're on the same page, are you looking to download/sync all your Dropbox files locally and have them available offline?

If you select multiple or all your files (depending on your preference), right-click on them and choose "make available offline", what happens?

I am just trying to sync my Photos from my cell phone (android pixel) but it wont do that. I just got a new laptop and have photos on my phone for about a year. Now I need to have them all uploaded to Dropbox. Can you tell me how to do that now?

I get this message: "Out of uploads You've reached your upload limit.Upgrade"
Please dont tell me I have to pay for a new plan in order to upload my photos. That is outragous. Gary

Hey @gdwright, lets jump right into this!

Just to clarify: do you wish to sync your content from your mobile to your laptop, or the other way around?

What steps do you follow in order to backup your camera roll to your mobile Dropbox app? Have you tried using the camera uploads feature?

One more thing I'd like you to check is how much available space you currently have in your account.
