I have two duplicate Dropbox folders on my Windows machine

Hi. I have two dropbox folders on my hard drive. When I use the app to access my computer folder, it takes me to Dropbox (Personal). I also, however, have a folder in the same location that's called simply, Dropbox. Both folders have the exact same files (I checked number of files and file size). So both are syncing.

The icons are slightly different. Dropbox (Personal) has the normal icon. Dropbox, however, has the icon with a little blue arrow in a white box in the bottom lefthand corner.

If I right click Dropbox (Personal) and go to the Dropbox menu options, I see: Make Online Only, Make Available Offline, View on Dropbox.com and Manage Hard Drive Space.

If I right click Dropbox and go to the Dropbox menu options, I only see: Transfer a copy.

They are both taking up hard drive space so I want to narrow to just one but I'm afraid if I delete one, it will delete all the files from the other.

Any suggestions?

To start, would you mind checking the app's preferences and more specifically your Sync tab, and check the path of your Dropbox folder?

This is the one that should be syncing, and have all the icons, therefore you'd be good to go and delete any other paths.

Did you have another Dropbox account that was connected to a Dropbox team, and then link this personal and work account using these steps? This is because your Dropbox folder would've been changed to Dropbox (Personal), hence my question.

The 'Dropbox' folder with the arrow most likely is a shortcut to your main Dropbox (Personal) folder. The desktop app creates this hidden link for you, to prevent old apps from breaking when trying to access the old Dropbox folder, which would've been renamed to Dropbox (Personal).
