I opened my Windows 10 PC today and was greeted with a lot of User Account Control pop up messages all wanting permission to change my PC to install a Dropbox Update. The details say the message originated on one of my hard drives. The only thing of Dropbox I have installed is the Dropbox App and according to Windows Apps & Features that was installed (updated) January 8, 2025. I am currently at version 215.4.7202.
This is the second time this has happened (the first time was around January 8, 2025). This happens on my Office PC; my Home PC does not have this issue, so I am thinking this may be because of application and network security in my Office.
When this happened the first time, I disabled the dbuodate and dbupdatem services thinking that this would prevent the issue from happening again, however it appears that is not the case.
Can someone confirm that these messages are the Dropbox app trying to perform an update?
Is there a way to prevent the Dropbox app from attempting to perform and update?
Thank you in advance for your assistance
