I can't see another user's updates on a shared file and they can't see mine

Please, I am sharing a file that weighs only 120 megabytes with a user who has 1.5Gb of free space in his account. We have shared the file for more than 4 weeks, today when I made an update the user cannot see it, nor can I see the updates he has made. please does anyone know what is happening and how to fix it?

Are you or the other user getting an error that's related to your available space?

Also, if you open the file on dropbox.com, can you see both your updates there?
