Are you trying to run the dropbox script as root?Is there a file in /root/.dropbox-dist/dropbox-lnx.x86-3.2.9/dropbox?
David; yes I am as User rootuse debian 7, in monitor mode, not use Graphical modeto run the command, got the error described above.

I needed to reboot my linux server after running Dropbox successfully for over a year.
I then proceed to do the following:
./dropbox.py start
Starting Dropbox....Done!
./dropbox.py status
Starting....
The problem is that the status always returns "Starting...." and nothing is getting synched to my server.
Please help!
