When trying to open a Drop Box Document in excel or word I get the following error
Welcome to our Community, @accessparksSteve!
Is this happening for all Word/Excel files that are stored on your Dropbox account?
Can you also send me a screenshot of the error you keep receiving?
Finally, are you opening your files via your Dropbox account online or locally on your computer?
Let me know when you’re ready.
Thank you so much for your quick reply.
-- Yes, that is correct all excel and word docs. I can pull up and view from the folder they are in but when I go to Open In "excel for the web" or "Word for the web" it gives me the error.
This is the screen shot.
its via my account online (Dropbox. Com)
Thanks for the additional details! Since this is happening on the website, can you clarify what’s the current browser you’re using, and try a different one?
Incognito mode on your current browser is also a good way to check if the issue is browser-related, or if there’s something else possibly going on.
I am using duck duck go. I will try a different one. I am not sure how to go into incognito mode. Tanks again for your nelp
No problem at all! DuckDuckGo is a search engine (like Google, for example), so your browser should be different (Chrome, Safari, Firefox etc).
If you try another browser and the issue persists, feel free to send me a screenshot of what you see on your current browser, and I'll try to guide you on how to find the private window.
Hi. I did try Google Chrome with the same results
This is my current browser,
Hey @accessparksSteve - sorry to jump in here, but could you clarify if you're using an individual account or if you're part of a team account instead?
If it's the latter, are you an admin or a member of the team? Could it be that the team's admin has restricted access to the Microsoft Office integration somehow?
Thanks for jumping in. I need all the help i can get. I am part of a team account. I have reached out to our admin and he has not been able to find a root cause.
Thanks for the additional information @accessparksSteve
Could you have a look at your connected apps tab and let me know if you see the Microsoft Office Online option there? If you do, can you try disconnecting it and re-connecting it to your account anew?
I do and have shared a screen shot. I disconnected and now dont know how to reconnect. it disappeared
ok i found it and reconnected. Regretfully did not resolve.
You should be able to add it back through the App Center at this point @accessparksSteve
Could you give it a go and let me know how it goes?
Thanks for the swift response @accessparksSteve
If you reconnected it and rebooted your machine and still getting the same error, would it be OK if I sent you an email to have a further look internally?
I did... see above. I disconnected and reconnected. Sent the screen shot showing reconnected March 1st. I appreciate your help. My admin is perplexed he can usually resolve anything
I did not reboot.. let me do that. yes you can send me an email [removed per the Community's Guidelines]
rebooted and receive same error
Thanks for keeping me in the loop, Steve.
I just sent you an email to investigate further, so please have a look at your inbox and we'll take it from there.
