New files are not stored offline despite the setting in the desktop app

Here's what I'm seeing: New Files Default is set to Available Offline, but files added via a different computer last night are NOT automatically downloading. I have to either open them or manually download them.

 

 

As an experiment, I went offline and tried to open a cloud file. As expected it didn't work.

 

This is the only thing I use Dropbox for. I never -- ever -- want to use cloud storage, because I can be offline at random points in time.

 

Can I trust Dropbox to resolve this issue globally? For all files and folders, new and old? Because this has been an issue for a long time. This is just the first time I've decided to report it.

 

If this is not a bug, and is part of a new software policy at Dropbox, please let me know. Thanks,

I am using Dropbox v193.4.5594 on Mac OS Sonoma 14.1.1

Hi @null_ref, thanks for messaging the Community.

 

Could you try marking the entirely Dropbox folder as available offline by right clicking the folder and choosing that option.

 

Keep me updated with any progress!
