Installatron backups to dropbox fail

Question

Hi everyone,

I use Installatron on a hosting platform. Installatron can make a backup (zipfile) from the content on the hosting platform and save this to my dropbox. Worked flawlessly up until march 3th. Since then, only a handfull of backups are stored in my dropbox, all others fail.

I checked:
- There is enough space in my dropbox (paid 3TB Dropbox professional plan)

- Zip files is created correctly, connection to dropbox is made, upload fails

My hosting platform, running Installatron, tells me there is no problem on their side. Dropbox helpdesk refers me to this forum for any other user input. Anyone else experiencing problems with Installatron trying to upload a file to their dropbox?

Since the normal uploading process is working fine from your machine and via syncing, this would indicate an issue either on the end of that app, or the connection from the app to Dropbox.

Either the app isn't uploading the file correctly somehow, or the connection is failing for other reasons related to the Dropbox API, which is something the developer would need to investigate using the logs on their end.

Unfortunately the system only reports back "Error: Upload failed."

On my mac uploading and syncing is flawless.

Some backups (just a few) from the Installatron app work, most fail though.

Hi @mpgga, thanks for bringing this to our attention.

Are you able to upload the zipped files normally to the Dropbox site, without using that app?

Did you receive any specific errors from the app itself regarding the upload?
