I use Dropbox for work. My corporate environment just implemented a policy to scan all SSL/TLS traffic by use of a proxy (dpi). Since the Dropbox client uses pinning, it makes it so that I suddenly cannot use Dropbox on my work machine. I understand that most people would want the added security that pinning provides, but I don't mind my company inspecting everything going in and out of my Dropbox folder and to not have access to Dropbox on my work machine is a major inconvenience. There should be a toggle somewhere in the app that allows me to disable pinning. Dropbox could even have it be a "premium" feature that is only available for paid subscriptions. This would allow me to "live life on the edge" and allow my company to read all my files while everyone else continues to enjoy enhanced protection from eavesdroppers and Dropbox would have a feature that encourages users to upgrade to "Plus". In the end, we're all happy.
