You either need access to the PC so you can disable it within Preferences in the Dropbox app, or you need to remove the PC from your list of Linked Devices. There's no other way to disable a backup.
Also, are you sure the PC is backing up to the account you're signed in to? The computer can't access the account (thus, backup wouldn't work) if it's not linked to the account and on the Linked Devices list.
Thank you
That is the strange thing. The PC has not been backing up for years and the Dropbox application has been uninstalled two years ago (i think, because the PC is broken) and also the PC does not appear in the list of devices, so I do not know how to do it. Dropbox doesn't let me delete the folder from the site dropbox.com

Then that computer is no longer linked to Dropbox so it can't be syncing and the backup feature can't be active.
Dropbox doesn't let me delete the folder from the site dropbox.com
Do you still have a backup listed on your Backups page?
Yes, computer no linked and with no syncro and I have a backup listed on the Backups Page on dropbox.com
I would like to delete this backup but it doesn't work, it's forbidden.
Please help me.
Hey @davidenigro, sorry to jump in here. Are you getting a specific error when trying to delete this backup?
If so, we'd appreciate a screenshot so that we can have a visual too.
Hi, these are the screenshots of the steps.
1. In this section i choose "Elimina" (delete)
2. After I choose "Non ho accesso" (no access) because if I choose "Continue" I am asked to download Dropbox but I'm in another computer (not mine).
3. Afterwards I am asked to go to the "Security" tab and do "disconnect the device"
4. But in the "Security" tab there isn't "HP-STUDIO" (my old computer)
5. I also tried to do the same operation by placing myself on the computer "5CD61554TF" (which has my Dropbox installed), but didn't work.
hi, sorry to jump in here but i have THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM.
did you managed to solve this?
Not yet, I'm waiting for a solution after my last post.

I don't know how to explain it anymore. The PC no longer exists as a result no backup is made in fact the folders are empty. At the same time the PC is not present in the "Linked Devices" so if you do not do it I have no way to do it.

Hello,
I am trying to delete files from my dropbox, and this message comes up.
"Go to Backup settings to delete Desktop. If you no longer have access to the computer you used to create My PC (Lore) backup, click I don’t have access."
I selected I don't have access, and this pops up.
I’ve merged your post here, @Loredana Dreptate, as your issue seems relevant to the one discussed.
Can you please send over a screenshot of what you see on your Backups page?
When saying that you’re trying to delete files from your Dropbox account, do you mean that you’re unable to delete individual files within the "Desktop" folder, or that you’re trying to delete the folder altogether?
If you attempt to just delete its files, do you still get an error?
