Hi folks, i was just wondering, why my dropbox capture isn't recording audio from screen recording? is this common issue or ?
Hi everyone, Dropbox Capture isn't intended to record audio from the screen or machine itself.
It only allows input from a microphone or an external input device.
Hi @ROGUE47, thanks for using Dropbox and happy Monday!
Could you please let us know your device's OS and if this persists after rebooting your computer?
If it does, is this happening for all of your recordings, some or just one?
Keep us posted!
I have the same issue.
Mac OS 13.0.1
Dropbox Capture latest version 89.0.4 - just updated.
I had this problem with Quicktime, it does not record screen audio output but only what is picked up by the built-in microphone. So if I put on a YouTube video and use Mac Speakers, the built-in microphone picks it up. If I use Airpods for speaker and microphone, and set audio so system or Airpods, it does not record the video output. I solved this by installing an third party plug-in BlackHole 16ch, which is a hack to allow recording of audio output and not just what the microphone picks up.
This exact same problem occurs with Capture except that the BlackHole plug-in does not work and I can only record audio output of PC if recording input through the built-in microphone.
I hope this helps as it is a required feature and I would rather use Capture as opposed to Quicktime.
Same issue with 89.0.4 on Windows 11.Only the selected microphone audio is recorded, no audio from the actual applications being recorded.
Is this on the roadmap? Other screen capture apps (e.g. SnagIt) have the option to record audio from the computer as well. Thanks.
That's rubbish - Dropbox should fully disclose that in the description of the CAPTURE function
Specifically got a subscription for this which I will now be cancelling
This software is utterly useless for me if it cannot record application audio.
What a joke.
