Can I break the connection between my Dropbox account and local Dropbox folder?
Hello... I recently backed everything up to drop box, then had it restored to my computer. All the files are on my computer and in Dropbox. When I delete those duplicate fils in Dropbox, they are deleted from my computer. How do I stop that from happening and just delete them from Dropbox? Thanks.

Backblaze won't backup Dropbox folder while files on disk are flagged as online-only
I noticed that Backblaze is not backing up my dropbox folder and after reaching out to backblaze support they've determined that files in my dropbox folder are assigned reparse points. On dropbox preferences\sync I've enabled "Available offline". All of the files in my dropbox folder are on my hard drive (because I've…

I enabled computer backup on my new Win11 device, but Dropbox is stuck indexing.
I am having trouble with Dropbox on a new Windows 11 PC. It is a bit confusing so bare with me... I used a program called "PC Mover" by Laplink to do transfer my old Win10 PC to a new Win11 PC - it transfers data as well as OS settings and apps. It went very well (I have done this dozens of times) but the one thing that is…

How to re-download my Dropbox folder on my desktop?
My SSD with my DB folder on it got corrupt, and so some folders in my DB folder were missing. I tried to replace them with a back up before really thinking about it, and don't want to accidentally tell the cloud that those missing folders are supposed to be gone/deleted. Either way, now the dropbox application itself…

The desktop app is failing to sync on Mac
My Dropbox fails to sync uploads. I can restart it, and then it wakes up and syncs. I am using Sequoia 15.5 (24F74). It generally seems to sync downloads. However, the message about Dtropbox being up-to-date is generally wrong, and can't imagine how the Dropbox coders can ignore the fact that it is nearly always wrong!

SD Card to Dropbox upload question
If this is a basic question then we apologise, but we are confused. Having looked in the Help area we see that it says is possible to transfer files (in this case photos) from an SD card into Dropbox, using the mobile app on an iPhone. We are a wildlife conservation team and would like to be able to do this for infield…

There's a .canary file causing syncing issues on my Dropbox app.
Hey all! My local backup software failed out yesterday - it reported that there was a file in use in Dropbox. I poked around and found that ".canary" in my Dropbox cache was marked with the syncing icon (round blue arrows). There was also a file "canary.enabled", but that one seemed to be static. When I delete the…

How do I stop Dropbox from auto moving files to online-only?
Last night, I accidentally caused my disk free space to go below 5GB. Dropbox decided to silently move all files to cloud and deleted all local copies, keeping just "links" (names a cloud+downward arrow icon next to it), WITHOUT notifying me!!! This happened without my knowledge and cause a few other apps that depends on…
