As you dont have it installed anywhere there isnt an easy way to see that bar the Quota page I've already sent. So, somewhere on your account you have some large files. You can use this article…

Ive never ever known the space message to be wrong. What is http://www.dropbox.com/account/plan showing? Have you checked backups at http://www.dropbox.com/backups ? Any shares? Remember they use quota as well.

Have you checked you are on a recent version of Dropbox? Try a reinstall from http://www.dropbox.com/downloading
-
What is http://www.dropbox.com/events showing? When you changed licence did they change your log on? If they did the files will be on your old account

Have a look at http://www.dropbox.com/support and see if it shows there.

To remove it you need to contact support or look at upgrading your plan (if you are free you get 20gb / day). However, if you are sharing LOTS of data then Dropbox probably isnt the best fit (paid get 200gb / day).

RareBreed wrote:Thank you for the info however we are unsure of how we've breached any rules as we've not shared any of our folders or files. If you have already shared files then people reusing then would count towards your bandwidth limits. Its also worth noting that the 24 bandwidth limit is a rolling one so it never…

RareBreed wrote:There was a problem. Please contact support for further assistance with removing your temporary ban. Have you removed a ban previously? You can also do so once. The ban should auto lift, usually, within 24 hours although each ban does get longer.

You need to log a ticket at http://www.dropbox.com/support The error states what the issue is - it isnt bandwidth its something thats shared which is against the TOS.

hhebbo wrote:As for account classification, we use industry standard approaches to categorize work accounts, but we hear you, domain classification isn’t perfect. Do you see the files at http://www.dropbox.com/home ? Do you have enough quota? http://www.dropbox.com/account/plan ? You can restore files at https://help.dropbox.com/delete-restore What you are seeing is a common issue if you didnt have enough quota OR you didnt wait long enough for it to upload. Dropbox creates the…

Sorry it hit the spam filters as it was your first post and you tagged people in it. I've unblocked it now

Ian_Hein wrote:If a link is shared could the files be accessed by anyone with the link? In theory yes.... but only if they have access to the link as it would be almost impossible to guess as its so long. You can also disable/delete links once you've finished with them at http://www.dropbox.com/links

hhebbo wrote:If you're using a Dropbox Basic account with a work email I find this a bit alarming if I'm honest and problematic. How do you decide what is a personal and what is a work email? For the company as well they may want to use free accounts which they then control access to via work emails (as they could reset…

GaryH_BAR01 wrote:Is there a way to get notifications sent to more than on person that there are new files? No unfortunately not, they go to the account linked to the person who set up the request

Yes :) I do this all the time - I have 3 or 4 created for different 'things' and just share that link with those who need it. Then people just use them as and when necessary. So, just create the File Request as you usually would and share the link. The only thing to make sure is you dont delete the folder or the File…

His email client is almost certainly doing something odd to the link. Does it work for everybody else? Get him to try copying and pasting the link instead and see if that works, or, go to https://sign.dropbox.com/

fedeboraxx wrote:Is there a way to keep the same link for an updated file? Just replace the file - dont delete it, replace it. So as I work with Dropbox on my computer I just File -> Save As and overwrite the file. I do this frequently without issue. If, however, you delete and THEN replace, you will lose the link.

Unfortunately, the only people who can help are Dropbox - but the ban wont be removed I'm afraid. Also, each time you get one it will get longer. However, what I would say is that Dropbox isnt intended as a hosting tool (which is why this is in place). By hosting the website etc. you are almost always going to get issues,…

Linux is supported on various OS's, so if you want a specifc on (icewm?) its probably worth requesting it is updated to include that rather than Linux as a whole.

Have you tried unlinking and relinking the Handy Diary app? How long ago was the app updated? Dropbox changed the root certificates that the API uses in January (it did give 18 months notice of this). So if an app is using an older SDK that doesn't have those new certificates, it wouldn't be able to connect to Dropbox…

What exactly is the issue? You havent said. Has your sharing been banned? If so have you looked at this?
