Dropbox doesnt work on partitions like that - so what you are seeing is not a Dropbox error. Dropbox files are stored in separate 4mb blocks - block level sync. So there is no partition for you I'm afraid. That simply isnt the way Dropbox works. See https://www.dropbox.com/en_GB/resources/what-is-cloud-storage for how it…

This looks like a broader server-side sync issue that needs urgent attention. It isnt. If you were over quota, as the emails and warnings state, your files are removed. Dropbox deletes them at the back end, it doesnt do it via a control on your device. If you were over quota and didnt delete things as you were warned the…

Can you use your emergency recovery details?

Hi The Standard plan now starts with just 1 user, so, you can get that if you need it. Until recently, you needed a minimum of 3 users (so you got 9 TB). The extended version history records every update of a file for 12 months. Its amazing! But careful as it only saves files on Dropbox so, while it is one of the systems I…

I would sincerely appreciate any guidance or confirmation of whether there is any possible option, no matter how small I'm so sorry to say but no, once that retention period has passed they are unrecoverable. If you think of it from a cost side for a moment the cost to hold that data would be huge, but also a legal side it…

Have you tried downloading the full offline version instead of the update version? It's available here.

Thats a great question! I base mine upon accountancy years (so I'm in the UK meaning its April → March). My folders are therefore set up as 1 - April 2 - May 3 - June … 12 - March I number them so they appear in order. Inside each I put all of my bills/invoices/statements etc. based upon when I receive them - scanning them…

There isnt I'm afraid. You have the 30 days listed after deletion as the warning email says, but, after that they are permanetly removed. Sorry.
-
Yes they are.

I have seen before that accounts disabled for breaching terms and conditions are simply that - closed without any sort of follow-up or appeals process. I wonder if this means your email has been flagged due to this? As its a family account its also possible that somebody else within the account is the reason the account…

Selective Sync still requires space on the disk I'm afraid because it moves everything to a hidden local internal folder first (as a data security method). Unfortunately I cannot think of a way of making it forced work without creating space on the first first.

The only people who can help are Dropbox via email I'm afraid. Once its been passed to them noody else can assist here. I'll also just add they dont work weekends so reply should be next week.

Try going to here and click on 'Linked Accounts'. Note you can only link a Business and a Personal. You cannot link 2 business or 2 personal for example.
-
Ah, sadly, given they are doing this as a compromise I cant see it happening. I'm on an old grandfathered plan (Essentials) which I love, but, Standard isnt quite the same so also stuck.
-
There not anymore! Have a look at Dropbox Standard. They have lowered the number of Team Seat's required to 1, but, still giving the possibility of buying additional blocks of space.
-
Have you had a look at this page? If it says you are using Backups have a look here.
-
Red X means there is an error. So for some reason it isnt syncing. Mouse over the Dropbox icon at the bottom and click on 'Activity' or notifications to see if/what that is. If it says all is OK what is the Dropbox version? I wonder if its a bug of that build.

The only way you will know for sure is to log a ticket with support but they have said on here quite a few times that if you miss the emails and recovery window there is no recovery possible. The AI window can be a bit of a mare, so, try just typing in 'contact support' or similar. However, if the files are not showing at…

I have to use a "recovery code" to get into my account My guess here again is that you do then have 2FA on your account - given you have the recovery codes you only get these when 2FA is set up. I dont know if the attempts at logging in are being mistaken and blocking out the disabling of it maybe as a security tool or…
-
If its asking for a code its one of two things. Either you have 2 factor security set up on it, or, its the email security where it emails you a code. Have you checked at the Security Page to make sure that 2FA is set to off? If so check your email for the code.

I have moved this to https://community.dropbox.com/en/categories/dropbox-api-support-feedback as its more liklely to get a response :)

It's all empty. I didn't use the app in years, don't think it was linked to the cloud or anything The key bit here is 'don't think it was linked to the cloud' - as if thats the case Dropbox cannot help as, technically, to Dropbox your computer has never existed. What does https://www.dropbox.com/account/security show in…
-
The 'last 12 months' option only works if you have a recovery window that allows that. So, no, it wouldnt show up for you. One thing to check is you are on the right account - make sure you dont accidentally have multiple accounts and the files have been wiped from the other
-
If the deleted tab does not have anything to recover then I'm afraid it means they are no longer recoverable. Have you had a look at this link? Just to check you are looking in the right place? The other consideration (although you would see the files on the Deleted page if they were recoverable) is that you can only…

Dropbox doesnt download automatically or to SD cards on mobile devices I'm afraid. It doesnt 'sync' as such to mobiles. Setting to 'Offline access' only works on computers. You need to open the Dropbox app on your mobile, download the file, and then, if you wish, manually export it to the SD card. There is no automated way…

Previews are limited to zip files under 512mb so that would explain the first and last image. For downloading is your internet stable?

Now even tho I use the same account email information, nothing syncs or happens as in the past I think the biggest question is why? As if its an issue with the machine it wont work even if you use new details. My guess, based on your post, is that you have a free account and may have hit the 3 device limit. If so why dont…

I thought you'd already upgraded? You said you did that on Sunday.

What do you think, is it still possible to return my files? Reply to the email from Megan, but, usually no - the emails are very clear that if they are deleted its permanent. Plus, recovery on non-paid accounts only ever 30 days, this is way over that.

Have a try of an advanced reinstall.
