I'm afraid it is not possible to recover an account deleted for inactivity - all data within it is wiped as the emails say 😞 Unfortunately that data is not recoverable via Dropbox.
-
Hi @"fcaco" You can use 1 account across 3 devices if you are a free user and unlimited if paid. Linking is the term of connecting the software to the device

@"neilBar" wrote:Hi Mark and I'd still like to know why it was labelled "localdomain" wheras my others are "local" Because thats what your Mac was called at the time you installed it.

You can rewind via the website. And it depends. If you deleted shared folders then you've also deleted for everybody in that share. If it wasn't it just impacts you
-
The simple answer is 'thats what your Mac was called at that time'. Updating the OS can change that. There is nothing sinister about it. If they have access to saved browser info then changing will help but you also need to update things like emails etc. Consider 2FA as well.

@"nomadism" because there is a sync issue - it may not sync to other devices and/or stop syncing on those devices. There is a reason they are detected and its to stop data loss and corruption not just on your machine but any others connected to it including shares.
-
The only way to solve that is let the syncing finish on the PC - if not you risk corrupting all database files within Dropbox (across the account). Let it do it and then if you need to rewind do that afterwards

What does www.dropbox.com/account/plan show?
-
Hi @"neilBar" If its asked to reconnect after you disconnected it, no, you are not in trouble its the same device connected again, Note that there is no way anybody could use your Time Machine discs to connect to Dropbox - they would need the actual username and password.
-
Hi both 🙂 Thats how Dropbox works. Dropbox is designed, and intended, that files are both online and in the cloud. This means that things work when internet is offline etc. If you want to have stuff in cloud only use Online Only settings.
-
Hi @"Paul 11" As others have said the Company has to do that for you. You cannot do it yourself. You need to speak to the Admin at the company and get them to remove (not delete!) you.

@"amandachin" wrote:@"Mark" We believe we found the issue! Please let us know if you're still having trouble - We will solve this! Hugely appreciate your time and interest. LOOK WHATS APPEARED!! Thank you! 🎉

Have you done https://www.dropbox.com/dash/install ? https://help.dropbox.com/installs/install-dropbox-dash gives some more info 🙂

Hi You dont just send an email, you have to share the folder via the website (which will then email them). There is no way to remove the limitation unless you buy and pay for a licence for them. The work around is to use links (as you have) and have them upload back to you via Requests.
-
Hi @"Engram" Plus will allow you to do this, but, not with Links. Dropbox links are designed as read-only / download links. You need to send somebody a Shared folder which will allow them to edit. The only key thing to note with this is that if the folder is, for example, 5gb in size the person you send it to also needs…

@"SimonParrock" wrote: Windows Server 2019. Thought that may be the case. Dropbox isn't actually supported on any Server install - see the minimum system requirements for info. Therefore I'd consider contingencies for when/if it stops working. So my guess is its trying to do an update or similar and getting stuck. Is it…

What is the operating system of the server @"SimonParrock" ?

Hi @"amandachin" I still dont have access 😞
-
Dead easy @"Jardii" Just download them to your computer. Then upload them elsewhere. There really is no more than that. https://help.dropbox.com/sync/download-entire-folders
-
When you moved them did you give them time to upload? Mac's create 0byte files on devices before populating them with the data. As they are initially tiny they upload almost instantly to Dropbox, but, then upload slowly once the files are 'full' of actual data. Thats not a Dropbox error or fault its just how Mac's handle…
-
Have you given them time to upload? What does Dropbox say if you mouse over its icon on the status bar of the computer?
-
You may not be able to regain access. Have a try of following https://help.dropbox.com/account-access/lost-email-access
-
Is the time and date on the Mac the same as on the website? i.e. is your timezones etc. correct?
-
Hi @"maher1982" Thanks for the images, they really help. Based on the second one Dropbox isn't running - the icon is missing. Restart Dropbox on your machine and all should be good 🙂

You will need to REMOVE him from the Team via the admin panel (not delete!) and then share the folder individually with him. Note that he will need an account large enough to access it, so, if its over 2gb he will probably need to pay for an upgrade.
-
Hi Mike If you mean the root of your Dropbox directory that's not possible. It would be possible, however to create and share a folder inside the root and then give everybody access to that though.

Dropbox backup? www.dropbox.com/backups

If there is a Dropbox drive installed make sure you only connect to it via the app and after an install. That way it creates a new database when it happens. Dont try and change directories etc. or it'll get confused and use what it sees on the machine as most up to date. It usually compares both, but, as the computer is…
-
Dropbox isnt designed to work like that - it isn't intended that you 'just swap hard drives'. Dropbox isn't intended, or designed, actually to even be installed on external drives. It is intended to replace them. So when you have connected a different drive Dropbox has used the local database on that hard drive and viewed…

www.dropbox.com/referral_status and www.dropbox.com/account/plan will help 🙂
