If you go to https://www.dropbox.com/account/plan does it show Basic? And using same browser window does https://www.dropbox.com/manage/billing?_tk=web_left_nav_bar show your receipt?

It shouldnt take that long. I wonder if the database is corrupted. To resolve that an unlink/relink works as it rebuilds it from scratch. BUT that does take time, so, do it when you have a spare few hours!

David Hwang wrote:How can I prevent Dropbox from reindexing on every restart? You cant I'm afraid. Its how it knows that the files have not changed since the last time the app was launched - and it compares the files between the web cloud version and locally. However, it shouldnt take huge amounts of time, or, slow the…

Have you tried clearing your cache and cookies @"yazmina" ? Somebody else posted a very similar issue a few days ago and that resolved it.

chlojito wrote:My husband has suggested perhaps there are back-ups somewhere (not that he’s an expert, obviously—just trying to give me hope, I think). There arent I'm afraid. Deleted items dont use quota. However, the bottom four don't have a size, which usually means they are too large to calculate. Ignore Apps as that doesnt use quota if its the Dropbox designated one. So check Mac, Health Care and Temp files

As the image said you have 17gb of files on your account. Dropbox isnt misrepresenting the space - dont you think millions of people would complain if that was the case? Thats what is on your account, although probably not your machine. You can see everything at http://www.dropbox.com/home note it MAY NOT be on your…

This isnt a bug I'm afraid, your image really helps, thank you! Because your last edit was 20th Feb 2024 it is over the recovery window (30 days free, 180 days paid). Therefore no previous version is available. This is how previous versions work even though logical process would state that as you only edited it today there…

Jeff Squad wrote:DB and PC are sync'd all the time, as I need DB for my designs. Originally both Iphones are sync'd, drag and dropped and then also the SD card from the camera are transferred. Few possible things here. * If you used another service/tool before Dropbox and copied and pasted the files in to Dropbox locally did you make sure they were stored…

Excel online doesnt support Macros I'm afraid. The only way to run these would be to download to your computer if you havent got Dropbox installed, or, if you have open from inside the \Dropbox folder.

Its not an error I've ever seen. Is Dropbox running? Can you see it in the status bar at the bottom near the clock? If so what does it say if you mouse over it?

JBLee2468 wrote:This problem is not only affecting me—other users are experiencing the exact same issue. It is probably worth noting as well that Dropbox have in the past done things to cause embedding items to not work - Dropbox isnt, after all, a hosting tool or service. So while you can almost certainly fix it with what…

You can use Dash to search for people already connected to you, but, Dropbox doesnt have a search tool to find people you are not already connected with. So Dash would find emails/messages etc. linked to them if you install it.

Dropbox Vault has been deprecated on 4th of March: Vault termination | The Dropbox Community Unfortunately, there is no native replacement for this. If you want to encrypt files on a machine now you'd need to purchase/use a third party solution.

I'm not aware of any software that can do this for you - everything needs to be locally on a machine to do the move. There used to be http://mover.io but that seems to have been closed down.

So if you change email addresses on an account it will update all shared folders etc. to that new email address. You and them wont need to do anything about that - it will just happen. They arent told you've changed email, but, would see the new email if they went to look at it. So, if you then want to set shares up on the…

Can you post a screenshot of the error please? It is talking about OneDrive lots which is a different service. You could also try updating the app at http://www.dropbox.com/downloading as 200.4.7123 is very out of date.

It should just auto regenerate next time Dropbox is ran - but you may find things like Selective Sync settings need to be reset up and it will have to fully reindex everything again
-
You either go to the link they've sent you in email or view at http://www.dropbox.com/home - if its a Shared folder you may need to accept it via http://www.dropbox.com/share first AS LONG AS you have enough quota to do so.
-
How long ago did you last log on? If it was over 12 months ago Dropbox wipes accounts for inactivity. No idea why you are still getting over account limit emails though. Are you sure you signed in to the right account? What is http://www.dropbox.com/events showing?

Yes it will work and it should be almost instant as long as the old email you want to reuse isnt part of a Business Team as sometimes they lock down emails from being reused.

Have you checked the backups page? Thats the usual culprit. The other one is any shared folders: http://www.dropbox.com/share Can you post what you see at http://www.dropbox.com/plans ?

Just to check, all you can see is one photo at http://www.dropbox.com/home ? If so have you also checked http://www.dropbox.com/backups ?
