Installed Dropbox on a new Mac and got "selective sync conflicts" on this and other linked computers
How do I fix the "Selective Sync Conflict" issue, which is now present on three computers: new Mac mini, 2021 MacBook Pro and 2017 iMac? Two days ago, I installed dropbox on new Mac mini, with the intention of synching ALL files/folders on to mini ****** drive. Yesterday, I noticed some files had downloaded green circle…

Dropbox Backup will not see my 4TB Sandisk external drives.
My 2 4TB Sandisk external drives will not show up for Dropbox Backup. My 2TB Sandisk external drive does. The only difference between them is that the 2TB is APFS Case Sensitive and the 4TB drives are just APFS. I have tried the option key in Accounts and pressed the Reset Operating System Warnings many times. It does not…

Dropbox can't sync files due to selective sync conflicts and unsupported file types on Mac
Hello. I'm running Dropbox on Mac OS 15.5, and have been happily using File Provider with Dropbox on an external drive for a few months. Suddenly, two things have happened: I have dozens of files thrown (from random folders) nto my Dropbox root, with "(Selective Sync Conflict)" appended to their names. Most of these are…

Syncing errors and selective sync conflicts makes my device unusable for my work.
My Dropbox stopped syncing on June 20 and I contacted you on June 23 for help. June 30 is the last time I've heard from anyone on your team—NO attempt has been made to help me troubleshoot, and my laptop is completely unusable without the ability to sync files with my desktop and my colleagues. I am desperate and don't…

I organized a massive amount of files on the desktop app, but sync seems to have stopped.
Yikes! Everything had been going well. Uploads to Dropbox from my main external HDs seemed fine. The DropBox online and my iMac were synced. THEN, I continued sorting, reorganizing, renaming the folder structure, moving around some files, deleting others. Not sure how many hours, but a lot. NOTICED that the online thru…

Should I upgrade to File Provider on my second Mac?
I have been using Dropbox for a good number of years. However, I'm still an older, make that mature ;) LOL, beginner in Dropbox and many tech matters. On my main desktop Mac, I see in Dropbox Preferences that I'm eligible for File Provider but it appears that I have not used it. I assume but only vaguely remember making a…

Possible to use aliases/symlinks to achieve seamless file path across multiple Mac devices?
I might have a bit of a niche issue here but I have just gotten a new Mac for my studio and in the past I have always named my laptops and desktops exactly the same, that way no matter where or what I am working on, dropbox being stored locally would always have the same file path and never need redirecting. For example…

How to view my Backup folder on my Mac's desktop app?
Greetings community! Previously, I used to be able to see my Mac represented on my Dropbox as a folder (I had enabled the backup option). This was super convenient because I could easily access my files on-the-go using my Dropbox iPhone app. However, due to a computer issue, I needed to wipe my MacBook Pro clean and…

The desktop app is failing to sync on Mac
My Dropbox fails to sync uploads. I can restart it, and then it wakes up and syncs. I am using Sequoia 15.5 (24F74). It generally seems to sync downloads. However, the message about Dtropbox being up-to-date is generally wrong, and can't imagine how the Dropbox coders can ignore the fact that it is nearly always wrong!
