If one of my several PCs fail, how do I know which backup to recover, since they all seem to share a generic name? Any ideas would be helpful.
Thanks.
Bruce
Hey @brucekaiser, I hope you're doing well!
It's not entirely convenient, but you'd need to check the content of the Backup, in order to do so.
However, I definitely see how important and useful that'd be. We listen to your needs because it allows us to fully appreciate how Dropbox fits into and influences your daily routine.
I'll forward your feedback to the appropriate areas so we can continue to improve.
Thanks!
It's been a long time, still no "Rename" tools PC in backup My backup now are PC , PC(2), very inconvenient
Hi. Dropbox Backup exist now in 2 versions. The one you use is the older, and you cannot rename backups. A new version is available, but in order to use it you have to do some steps on every one of your device having a backup: (please make sure you have copies of your data)
PLEASE BE AWARE that:- if you migrate to the new Dropbox Backup, you cannot go back to the old version- one big difference is that you cannot see the backup-ed devices folders on your regular Dropbox folder. In other words: at the moment you can see "PC(2)" folder (and all its files) inside your Dropbox folder on your first PC; after migration, you won't be able to see "PC(2)" backup-ed files on your first PC. You will be able to access it only on https://www.dropbox.com/backup/all
