As a work around you could stop using Selective Sync completely and use 'Online Only Folders' which stay visible on the local machine, but, crucially dont use up space on the disk.

Mike B59 wrote: It seems the common thread is the new users to dropbox are having the issue. Do they have enough quota to add things? Remember shared folders use up everybodys quota. Are they able to view the files online at http://www.dropbox.com/home themselves?

I'm not aware of any migration tools, therefore, you will need to just start a new backup and let it all upload and sync as normal

What does http://www.dropbox.com/plan say? Have you also checked http://www.dropbox.com/backups

Susan D.11 wrote:Sounds like the plan I need doesn't really exist. Thank you, Jay. I think it would actually @"Susan D.11" The plan is intended to be used by multiple people - hence needing 3 licences. However, you CAN use it with just one. The 15TB of data is a pooled plan so you could use it all and none of the other 2.…

Dropbox probably wont work for you here I'm afraid as you are very likely to get banned with that volume of data being used: https://help.dropbox.com/share/banned-links Dropbox isnt a content distribution system I'm afraid and as such does have very strict limits on it. The only plan which would probably work would be a…

There is no way to stop them on the desktop/website but you can disable the notifications via email here: https://www.dropbox.com/account/notifications

You should be able to do this via the website: https://help.dropbox.com/organize/how-to-manage-dropbox-backup#To-manage-your-backups-with-the-updated-Dropbox-Backup

JoRo2 wrote:I am only interested in what dropbox encourages people to do and if you can turn them off! Ive answered it. You cannot disable that option. The button is still visible. You cannot make it go away.

JoRo2 wrote:can you also disable visible share links as well as visible download links. that was my question. No. The share button will still be visible, BUT, all it literally does is copy the link they've already used to the clipboard.

No. You can disable download. But you cannot disable or limit what people do with that link. So if you sent a link to me there is nothing, at all, you could do to stop me sending it to Rich, as an example.

JoRo2 wrote:i want to know if in dropbox you can disable download ability and resharing ability Simply put, no. You can disable download but cannot disable sharing of link or resharing if it was downloaded in some way. The plans are the ones the help article talk about at the top:…

JoRo2 wrote:It doesn't mention anything about disabling the ability to reshare for example Ah, apologies, I thought you meant to disable download and then reshare that file. You can see all here: https://help.dropbox.com/share/set-link-permissions What I would say, however, is careful as no system is infallible.

You'll need to log a ticket at http://www.dropbox.com/support for help. Or, if a free user hopefully somebody here sees it Monday. https://help.dropbox.com/share/banned-links

You need to check the email that you will have got on the 13th of June telling you about the deletion. That will tell you when they are due to be deleted. Alternatively you can moge the files out of the directory they are in and in to one of your own. This usually happens because the folder they are in is owned by somebody…
