Yes - it is exactly the same. There is a limit of 100,000 connections across the whole account. So thats 100,000 connections across every single shared link/file etc. as well as the bandwidth limits.
-
Hi @"kal77" As the error says the parent folder has too many shared folders within it. So, you'll need to unshare some to be able to share that folder OR move it out of the parent folder and share it independently.
-
Hi @"Youssef087" As @"Jay" said there is also a limit of 100,000 connections. So if every connection you make to the API to download counts towards that. For example if it was a small file and needed just one API call then you'd be able to do it 100,000 times. If it needed multiple that would decrease.

Deleted files dont use up quota, so, permanently deleting them makes no difference. The only way to get space back is to remove files from Dropbox - basically anything at www.dropbox.com/home is what uses your space.
-
Hi @"emf2718" No, I'm afraid you can only add it on once.
-
If events is blank then there is nothing on this account and its a new one having not been used. You need to go to the other one, I'd imagine, to get the files back.
-
@"hjwebb" - you need to contact the people who gave you this software in the first place. Dropbox themselves have no idea who/what people do with files due to how they are encrypted.
-
Hi @"maVenmills" Dropbox hasnt changed free quota spaces. If you are over quota you cannot add to the files, but, you can download and delete. You can do this via the software on the computer or the website at www.dropbox.com/home.
-
Hi @"beatmixer0097" Dropbox is working I'm afraid. Shared folders use up the quota of everybody in it. So, if you need access to more than 2gb of data you either need to upgrade or get more space: www.dropbox.com/plans and www.dropbox.com/gs. If you need only read only access consider leaving the shares and instead asking…

How big is what you are trying to download? Both in terms of size and folder numbers
-
Hi @"DashSVK" If thats happening your sharing rights have been removed - either due to suspicious files, or, spamming via referrals (i.e. there have been complaints). It is possible that its a false positive. Hopefully somebody will pick this up on Monday when support opens and help you.
-
Hi @"hoho1" Can I just confirm that you have nothing at all at www.dropbox.com/home ?
-
Hi @"JohnL3" Unfortunately upgrading to a different plan now wont give any more recovery windows I'm afraid. In terms of reinstalling you probably need to do an advanced reinstall https://help.dropbox.com/installs-integrations/desktop/advanced-reinstall
-
Hi @"trevor56" My guess here is the file and folder path is too long - Windows itself has a limit of about 250 characters starting at the C:\ (i.e. there are 3 already!) and anything other that doesnt work. Try shortening the path by renaming big folder names and it should work
-
Hi @"AKM1" I'm afraid the issue isnt with Dropbox so we cannot help here - the issue is with OneDrive. My guess is that the files were marked to online only in OneDrive and so not actually on your local machine. You need to either download from OneDrive's website, or, reinstall and download them that way first.
-
Hi @"dfscott12" When you removed the people from the share did you also remove yourself? That step is needed to actually 'close' the share - if you are still in the folder as a shared user even if nobody else is the system treats it as shared.
-
@"dimitra vidinioti" EVH is a very, very old feature called 'Extended Version History' (also known as Pack-Rat) which at the time allowed unlimited recovery of files and documents (and the became 365 days). However, its not been available to purchase or use for many years and was an add on to paid plans. If you dont…
-
Hi @"Gavin F" Shared folders use up the quota of everybody within it - so if you want to upload 5gb of files to a shared folder you need to have that much space in your account for it.
-
You need to follow https://help.dropbox.com/accounts-billing/multiple-accounts/link-unlink-two-accounts from one of the accounts. Notably the 'Link Your Accounts' space.
-
There is no tool to access this I'm afraid its an encrypted part of the Dropbox system and that is it.
-
Hi @"Julia Jager" as the issue is with GoodNotes have you asked them for help? Or even simply made sure you are using the most recent version of the software
-
You need to move the files/folders out of the Dropbox directory if you do not want them to sync 🙂
-
Sadly I dont think so 😞 I have a bug report with them for an issue with shared folders that they've acknowledged nearly a year ago and said 'they have no plans to fix'. Dropbox support is, sadly, very hit/miss and at best poor 😞
-
Hi @"XMoDiiFy " That is how Dropbox works. Shared folders use up the space of everybody in the share.
-
There is! Have a look at https://www.dropbox.com/photos BUT it may not display them next to each other to see duplicates easily
-
Hi @"Karen Huguley" I'm afraid Dropbox has no such function to find and remove duplicates. Thats something you do need to do manually unfortunately. Same as if sync'ing on a device is paused you need to restart it and Dropbox will automatically update the changes, however, that will just be to how they are on your device -…
-
Hi @"Aviator12" I'm afraid as its Swann's software that is having issues (i.e. your Dropbox is working / you have space / it is connected) you need to speak to Swann for assistance.
-
@"YogY" Nobody has any clue I'm afraid - there is (as always) total radio silence from Dropbox on this
-
Hi @"retiredbutstillworking" Unfortunately you've assumed wrong. Shared folders use up the quota of everybody inside the folder so if you are a member of it you also need to have enough space to access it
-
That means, as the error says, you have an account already with that email. So, you need to log in to it and either change the email on that account or delete it. To get a log in password go to www.dropbox.com/forgot and ask for a password reset.
