Why is Dropbox deleting local files after moving to a new computer?
Hello wise Dropbox warriors, So I recently purchased a Macbook Air to serve as a backup/travel laptop. My main machine is an MBP 16. I booted up the MBA using a Time Machine backup so that it effectively became an identical copy of my MBP. The Dropbox folder, with its 200GB or so of files, was likewise copied over. There…

I can't open some Excel files on the Dropbox app of my 10.15.7 macOS Catalina.
I cannot open certain Excel files I have on Dropbox. It's possible this has something to do with the fact that my Mac is more than 10 years old and is no longer supported. I am running Mac OS Catalina 10.15.7 and can't update. The Excel version I am using on this Mac is 16.66.1. It also can't be updated for the same reason…

Using Dropbox on an external drive with Mac OS File Provider?
Hi, I am a long time paying customer of Dropbox. I'm very happy with the service. The major reason I have chosen Dropbox over other cloud storage services is the ability for me to sync to an external drive. In my work I often have large folders added to my Dropbox and if it were to sync to my internal ****** drive it would…

This week it happened twice that I open my dropbox folder and all my files have been offloaded. Despite the fact that I explicitly put in the settings that my files should be kept offline. Set all folders to "make available offline" on macOS
In the new macOS FileProvider API version of Dropbox, is it possible to recursively set all folders to "make available offline"? If so, does this setting persist for newly added sub-folders? I've read reports that each individual folder must be manually set, which is completely unacceptable if true. My key use case is that…

On macOS on File Provider, online-only folders disappear from the Dropbox app
I installed File Provider on my MacBook Air (running Sonoma 14.5) in the Dropbox app. When I did this, all the folders having Online Only status (via Selective Sync) disappeared. My edits in the old Dropbox folder didn't sync to the new one after Dropbox update (macOS)
