Can you acess via www.dropbox.com/backups ? If not can you post screenshots of any errors?
-
Hi @"axe" I assume that both accounts are already linked? Which version of Dropbox are you using? Does it give any errors if you mouse over its icon on status bar?
-
You already can 🙂 https://help.dropbox.com/share/set-link-permissions#Disable-downloads-for-a-shared-link However this is only available on certain paid for plans.

So, can I ask a few? Some may appear obvious but I suppose that's what I'm looking for here! * Why do I need Dash? What does it do? Whats the advantages of it. I don't want 'rock star DJ movie director' rubbish. I want how it helps ME as a person/teacher that has all his docs within the Dropbox eco system * Whats the…

Without the recovery words or an already connected device there is no way to get access to the account: https://help.dropbox.com/installs/dropbox-passwords-faq "To add an extra layer of security, Dropbox Passwords uses devices you’ve already connected to confirm new devices you want to connect. If you don’t have access to…

Check at https://www.dropbox.com/account/security to make sure you can see what devices are connected and remove unused ones, Also on one of the restored files open up the Previous Versions menu to see which device deleted it - it may be that the date shown is inaccurate
-
No it should work happily without as long as those things are configured correctly. If they are not set up correctly then applications wont work.

What is Events showing as @"Rich" asked?
-
If Dropbox isnt showing at the top @"Marcus_VG" then it even running - and so the firewall etc. isnt disabling as the software isnt open.
-
No thats the right way to the folder, but, doesn't mean Dropbox is running. There should be a Dropbox icon at the top of the screen near the clock. If there isn't its not running. So there is no syncing. Rerun it from Applications folder or via www.dropbox.com/downloading
-
You need to cancel the trial. Let Dropbox totally downgrade you after it says failed payment a few times. THEN upgrade at www.dropbox.com/plans
-
Hi @"islandnomads" Is Dropbox running when you hover your mouse over its icon? What does it say if it is? Are you editing and opening the file inside of Dropbox and not another location?
-
Dropbox would accept .lnk or URL files BUT that would be it - it would only upload that file and not the thing it was pointing to. Have you searched file *.url files? Where is it you are going to upload this file? How are you doing it?
-
Hi @"anniecdigitals" My guess is that they are not logged in to the same email that you sent the link to OR they are using a different machine with a different Dropbox logged in and its picking that log in up instead.

You will need to contact Dropbox for assistance via www.dropbox.com/support and ask for help.

That looks like you are trying to upload a shortcut to the folder and not the actual folder.

Dropbox sends email reminders but sometimes end up in spam. You need to contact Support and ask for help: www.dropbox.com/support. Note that they only work Monday through Friday. Help info: https://help.dropbox.com/plans/refund

Hi @"linguos" Dropbox can only work on and upload files inside its own folder. So, there is no way of doing what you'd like it to do. Even with the option to upload and save desktop / documents etc. to Dropbox this moves those actual directories over and puts hidden shortcuts where they originally were.
-
Hi Arne Have you looked at the backup page as has already been suggested? www.dropbox.com/backups
-
It sounds like your sharing capacity has been removed for some reason. You need to contact Support at www.dropbox.com/support and ask them to check and remove the block.
-
Shared folders use up everybody's Dropbox - so if it was in your account it used your data. You need to delete the files from www.dropbox.com/home AND / OR leave the Shares from www.dropbox.com/share
