Sorry it hit the spam filters as it was your first post and you tagged people in it. I've unblocked it now

Ian_Hein wrote:If a link is shared could the files be accessed by anyone with the link? In theory yes.... but only if they have access to the link as it would be almost impossible to guess as its so long. You can also disable/delete links once you've finished with them at http://www.dropbox.com/links

hhebbo wrote:If you're using a Dropbox Basic account with a work email I find this a bit alarming if I'm honest and problematic. How do you decide what is a personal and what is a work email? For the company as well they may want to use free accounts which they then control access to via work emails (as they could reset…

If you go to http://www.dropbox.com/support is there any updates to your ticket?

GaryH_BAR01 wrote:Is there a way to get notifications sent to more than on person that there are new files? No unfortunately not, they go to the account linked to the person who set up the request

Yes :) I do this all the time - I have 3 or 4 created for different 'things' and just share that link with those who need it. Then people just use them as and when necessary. So, just create the File Request as you usually would and share the link. The only thing to make sure is you dont delete the folder or the File…

His email client is almost certainly doing something odd to the link. Does it work for everybody else? Get him to try copying and pasting the link instead and see if that works, or, go to https://sign.dropbox.com/

fedeboraxx wrote:Is there a way to keep the same link for an updated file? Just replace the file - dont delete it, replace it. So as I work with Dropbox on my computer I just File -> Save As and overwrite the file. I do this frequently without issue. If, however, you delete and THEN replace, you will lose the link.

Unfortunately, the only people who can help are Dropbox - but the ban wont be removed I'm afraid. Also, each time you get one it will get longer. However, what I would say is that Dropbox isnt intended as a hosting tool (which is why this is in place). By hosting the website etc. you are almost always going to get issues,…

Linux is supported on various OS's, so if you want a specifc on (icewm?) its probably worth requesting it is updated to include that rather than Linux as a whole.

Have you tried unlinking and relinking the Handy Diary app? How long ago was the app updated? Dropbox changed the root certificates that the API uses in January (it did give 18 months notice of this). So if an app is using an older SDK that doesn't have those new certificates, it wouldn't be able to connect to Dropbox…

What exactly is the issue? You havent said. Has your sharing been banned? If so have you looked at this?

The only people who can is Dropbox support via http://www.dropbox.com/support. Rich doesnt work for Dropbox so cannot see your account. You'll also need Dropbox to remove the ban :)

What does http://www.dropbox.com/events show? How long did you last log in to your Dropbox account?

TomGConsultingLLC wrote:I thought a unique Email to Dropbox email address could be enabled that within that folder, keeping the communication and document(s) secure in that folder. I've not been able to make that work. No, sorry. As I said that isnt how it works. The email is one specific email per Dropbox account which…

oscar01 wrote:Is this a problem related to CsEntry, or could it be partly your fault? As its a third party app it would be them who need to resolve as I said yesterday as its them who have wrote the code to connect to Dropbox

TomGConsultingLLC wrote:How do I setup unique "email to dropbox" email addresses for my individual client folders? That isnt how it works I'm afraid. Email to Dropbox adds the files to a folder called 'Email Attachments'. It isnt possible, at least natively via Dropbox, to run that at a specific folder level.

Is this a third-party connection or a connection? If so it would almost certainly be them you need to contact

My guess (and again apologies as it is only that) here is that you are seeing it 'cause you are logged in. If you did an incognito window, you probably wouldn't - although incidentally, I do sometimes find there is a difference between computers/mobile apps when viewing stuff. Dropbox does do stuff differently if you are…

Dropbox does, and has, frequently changed how things work with shared links @"deco10". I cant (obviously) say that for sure here as I dont use it @"Nancy" doesnt work in the technical team. She is in the support team, she cannot log faults or bugs if people wont help them with troubleshooting.

I dont believe there is, Dropbox stopped displaying HTML as people were using the hosting system for web pages which, due to frequent changes around how links worked, broke them on more than one occasion. If the page is static etc. could they do a force download and open it on their local device?

Have you tried restarting machine? Updating Dropbox from http://www.dropbox.com/downloading ?
