Thanks for the reply and the additional info, @sfaxer. I'm assuming the file previews fine on the sender's end, right? Is it possible to send us a screenshot of how the file appears for them and how it appears for you in the fax? You can of course edit the screenshots to hide any sensitive or personal info.

Hey @BruceBucky1, thanks for the additional info and the screenshot. It would seem like for some reason, the .dmg file is associated with Notes, so let's see if we can change that to fix your issue. Go to the downloaded DropboxInstaller.dmg file in Finder Right-click it and go to "Get info" Look for "Open with" and change…

Hey @jorgespinoso, I hope it's okay for me to jump in. Are you able to see the particular deletion event in your events page here?
-
Hey @lisa2314, thanks for posting to the Dropbox Community! Is it possible that you have backup files or shared folders taking up your space? Let me know what you find.
-
Thanks for the update here, @bruce678, and hi from me as well. If these computers have an antivirus or firewall/VPN installed and active, can you please disable it and try to run the installer again, to see if it helps?
-
Hey @svaughany7, thanks for reaching out to us. To be honest, there's no change in how this works and I just tested it on my end and I did receive an email notification. Is it possible that at some point you unsubscribed from those emails? Or perhaps they're going to your spam? Let me know!
-
Hey @Babs123, can you try to attach or copy/paste the screenshot to your next reply, if possible?
-
We appreciate your feedback on this, @DiagramUser. There are some things you can do of course, to prevent such issues, like making sure you don't share your password with anyone or setting up two-factor authentication, like Megan already suggested. This will require a code in addition to your email address and password…
-
Hey @DiagramUser, sorry to hear about this. If you want to make sure the email you got was a legit one, you can check if it came from an official Dropbox domain. Now, you can definitely see a list of browsers and devices that are connected to your account on the page that Mark linked above. I'd also suggest changing your…

Hey @pgs1, sorry to hear about your folder. Can you check the deleted files page and let me know if you can see it there? How about your events page? Do you see the deletion event there? Keep me posted!
-
Thanks for the reply, @loansbyheidi! So, this happens with folders that have no members at all too, huh? Would you mind sending me a screenshot of the error?
-
Sorry to see that you're having an issue with this, @loansbyheidi. Are you getting this error when trying to add people to other folders in your account as well, or just this one? Have you tried adding members to your folder using a different browser or a private browsing window, to see if you get the same error? Let me…
-
Sorry to hear about your files, @Nata_Firmino. To be honest, if they were deleted more than 30 days ago, there's not much that can be done on the Dropbox side of things. When exactly were they deleted? Can you see the deletion events in your events page here? And were these files previously synced to your computer through…
-
Thanks for the update here, @abelljms. When you click on one of the "see deleted files" links in the email, you should be redirected to the particular deletion event's details on our website. There, you'll see a list of all files deleted on that particular event, along with a "Restore" button at the top right of the page.…
-
Hey @abelljms, thanks for your post and sorry to hear about this! You can find which device these deletions are from or who deleted them, by checking the version history of the deleted files (once they're restored). Let me know what you find and how it goes.
-
Thanks for keeping us updated on this, @kengmod17! We don't really have access to that info, however, if you need anything else, please let us know. Have a great weekend!
-
Hey @Gustavo_Romero, sorry to hear about your file. While Mark is right, you can also reach out to our support team about this; they'll be able to confirm if the file is unrecoverable. I hope this helps!
-
Hey @DanKlatt, thanks for taking the time to post today and sorry to hear about this. Even if you logged in to the wrong Dropbox account on the desktop app, your main account should still exist along with all your files. Have you tried signing in to it on the Dropbox website? If so, are you able to see all your files…
-
Hey @Jasonn1973. No such options exist since the Dropbox Add-in for Outlook integration is gone, but I'll make sure to pass your comments and feedback along to our team. Let me know if you have more questions!
-
Is it possible to attach or copy/paste the screenshot itself in your next reply, @DMG_8008?
-
No worries, @knowsray, that message basically tells you what will happen to your account after you downgrade at the end of your current billing cycle. You can read more about that here. I hope this helps!
-
Hey @Charles C.31, thanks for your comment. If you're trying to rename your backup, you should be able to do so from the backups page here. Just keep in mind that to do that, you'll need to be on the updated version of the backup feature. I hope this helps!
-
Hey @DMG_8008, sorry to hear about this. Just to confirm, is this the feature you're referring to? Can you please send us a screenshot of the error, so we can have a visual as well?
-
Hey @ssparker7, no worries! Can you check if you have this issue with files in other locations as well, not just the ones in your Dropbox folder? Also, if you quit the Dropbox app, does the issue persist with the app closed?
-
Hey @Triana Y., sorry to hear about this. Just to clarify, are you getting the same notification that the Dropbox app is crashing frequently and to put it in deep sleep when the app isn't really crashing, or is it actually crashing as well?
-
Hey @Pueblo_Escobar, sorry to see that you're having issues with your sharing. Can you let us know which exact error message you're getting? Are you having this issue with all your Dropbox files or some of them?
-
Hey @knowsray, would you mind copying or attaching the screenshot files themselves in your next reply, please?
-
Hey @hellofaxuser, thanks for reaching out to the Dropbox Community today! Let's see what we can find out. You mentioned that you changed your email address, I'm assuming you mean your Dropbox account email address, right? If you try to sign in to Dropbox Fax with your old email address, what do you see? Are you getting…
-
In that case, I don't think there's a way to recover those edits, @mdb282. If they were never saved to Word or got lost in Word, then they never made it to your Dropbox account. That means they cannot be recovered through Dropbox, but I would still suggest reaching out to Microsoft as well, in case they have an idea of…
-
Hi from me as well, @mdb282! Have you checked the version history of the file within the Word app to see if you can find your edits there?
