Why can't I play a video in its full length on Dropbox?

Why do I have duplicate file names prepended with "._"?
In all or most of my folders, my file names are duplicated but with a period-underscore "._" appearing before each duplicate. Is Dropbox down today? It says "something went wrong", when I try to open a file.
