Have you tried www.dropbox.com/events ?
-
If you did NOT give Dropbox your card details then you need to speak to your card company as somebody has defrauded you. If you DID then you have set up a paid account OR a free trial you've not cancelled in time. Dropbox DOES NOT need a card number for a free account and only gets one when somebody actively inputs it.…

Hi Dropbox remembers the initial shared folder name regardless of what it is called after that. So, If you desperately need it as something else you need to start a new one. However an important point here is that any person in the share can rename or move it at free will. So although you want it called **bleeps photos**…

Are you sure you are using the desktop software and not trying to do this via the website? Click on the Dropbox icon on the status bar, click on your little avatar picture top right and then click preferences.
-
Have a look at https://help.dropbox.com/sync/sync-choose-folders-to-sync 🙂
-
If support are giving you a fix then, unfortunately, I feel that it is reasonable that this is done to try and sort it - especially as you are pretty lucky in even getting a reply!
-
We need more info here I'm afraid @"nillydog" . Why? Whats happening? What can you see? Whats the error messages etc.
-
It isnt Dropbox you need to talk to it is your card provider. If you didnt give your card info to Dropbox you need to speak to them urgently as this person will be using your card for a lot more than just here.

How do you mean notifications? If you mean emails/pop ups etc. then this is correct as no feature exists. You need to manually check. You can get weekly digest emails via the Account Settings pages but not ongoing regular ones.
-
If you mean if you have hard drive failure then yes, you should be able to just log on and reinstall and it'll download everything again.
-
You cannot really compare to a computer as that will have software on it which does it already for you. Most of these programs are simply like a USB pen - there job is to get the stuff to the device. Opening things is then down to the device. In terms of what Google does, sorry, I'm not sure.

For the referral what does www.dropbox.com/referral_status show?
-
Hi @"SNupnorth" How do you mean they overlap?
-
The whole point of Dropbox is to have multiple computers 🙂 However, if you mean a separate folder structure for each machine? No. The idea is it is shared across all.
-
Basically if you are being told you cannot download them there isnt anything you can do - its a setting they need to change 🙂
-
Sounds like they have been shared with download permissions turned off 🙂 The owner can alter this by following https://help.dropbox.com/share/set-link-permissions
-
You will need to download and install an app which can open .eml - the Dropbox software isnt capable of this

Going to be honest and say Google Docs isnt my thing, but, this article may help you; https://9to5google.com/2023/06/04/dropbox-google-workspace-migration/

@"Ariel S.1" wrote:There have been no updates--how does one upload files to from a device to a specific folder on Dropbox and maintain the original creation date? Certainly I can do this if I use an external hard drive for example. As we speak, I am cleaning up my Mac and realizing that I can't sort by date because they…

Hi @"Doble G" Unfortunately the 180 day recovery window only works from the day of purchase, so, it wouldnt work on a file deleted over 30 days ago.
-
There is no hacking etc. Have a read of https://9to5google.com/2023/06/04/dropbox-google-workspace-migration/ and check your emails for information as to what is happening.

@"Spinsterd" wrote: So what was the verdict on that domain? I recently received a similar email from that domain, and a friend told me it was a scam email. I don't use dropbox often at the moment. The last time I logged in was feb. I would just like some confirmation of this is a legit email or not. Thank you. A Dropbox…

You can rename anything you want 🙂 Just make sure if you do it on the website to leave the extension (i.e. bit after the fullstop).
-
Hi @"Rejuv" If you are using the desktop software to download files it will automatically continue from the last 4mb block. If you arent how are you doing it? Via the website?

I've just tested here again and as I said a simple replace of the file works. As it always has - even if I replace from another location. @"TrevorBarrett" could you try saving your file to say the desktop first and then overwriting the old one?
-
Hi @"TrevorBarrett" It shouldnt work like that - on mine it always updates and just replaces the file as long as the initial file is not deleted first. How are you replacing it? What is things like the OS / set up (so desktop or web etc.)

@"Yannic_Belgium_Europe" wrote:Hi Jay, So this still means that customers who want to (and/or legally have to due to regulations from their customers) host their data in EU do still require to buy a certain level of licenses or package to have this option, correct? Renaming shouldnt do that - have you refreshed the page etc. to look for it? Alternatively try going to www.dropbox.com/events and recovering it
