dropitlikeitshot1 wrote:So are you still paying for Backblaze? I am yes, as I like the fact it still backs up 'everything else' if that makes sense? So while its redundant on my data it still does the rest of my files (desktop, anything in Documents etc. as I dont use that directory as such).

Making sure the volume of files you have on Dropbox is less than your quota which shows at http://www.dropbox.com/account/plan

I am also a backblaze customer and have exactly the same issue. The issue isnt exclusive to Dropbox but all cloud storage systems using Mac that are in the new folder structure (i.e. 'Cloud Storage' folder). For me, yes, I am ok with it as I have the extended recovery on my Dropbox meaning if something was to happen I can…

Marcodegrotto wrote:What if the user does not want to change the subscription but simply woud prefer to manually approve a renewal? What would happen if they dont then? Just thinking out loud here as there is a real risk then of data loss - as Dropbox does delete files to bring people under quota. You are also given…

Pleased its sorted :D

If you've logged in with exactly the same account your data would be there, so, my guess here is you actually set up a new one by mistake (which is quite common). When you go to http://www.dropbox.com/events what does it show? Can you search your emails for anything from mailto:no-reply@dropbox.com ?

wendymcalpine wrote:Can I get reimbursed for the year? Dropbox plans are generally not refundable. Its why you get multiple reminder emails before they charge you. The only people who can help, however is support.

All info relating to inactive accounts is available here or it will be on the email you've received. You basically need to be logging in at least once a year, and staying under quota.
-
They already have one :) https://www.dropbox.com/en_GB/family
-
Just to add to whats been said have a look at this one as well and note that it may actually not be possible to regain access.
-
The images help, thank you - it says you are using 3.1mb of files which is tiny - probably that one file you have. You are using 3.1mb out of 3.8gb - mega bytes vs. gigabytes :)

For the data integrity sake I strongly suggest speaking to your computer person to see what and how they have done this as nobody here can answer that with certainty given we cannot see the device etc. What I will say, however, is that you cannot sync to both at the same time. So to make sure data is safe you need to…

I'd strongly suggest logging a support ticket at http://www.dropbox.com/support instead - they are usually quite quick at replying to that.

Hi @"samparks" The first two things I would check are does Dropbox say anything if you mouse over its icon on the status bar? Any errors/warnings etc. Secondly check Dropbox is on a local drive, not using symlinks or junctions and that its not trying to sync a network or external drive - what you are seeing is a common…

Argh!! Sorry. How silly is it that you can have same username with 2 different cases?!
-
Unfortunately you need to download the files first - and then upload. As a work around, are they still on your phone on camera roll? You could use Camera Uploads to auto upload them to Dropbox which would then allow you to delete from iCloud. Note that they'd need to be on the device itself, however for this to work.…

Just to add to this, how long ago did you last log in? If it was over 12 months the data on it would have been wiped already I'm afraid due to inactivity.

Jacqui wrote:I have been in contact with this issue in the past, and was promised the fraudulent accounts connected to our Credit card account would be fixed If its fraud you need to speak to your card company it is their job to sort it. After all..... we pay them enough for it!

Nobody here can help I'm afraid. You need to await a reply from support, which can take a few working days, I'm afraid - especially for non paying users. Its also worth noting that you may not be able to regain access: https://help.dropbox.com/account-access/lost-email-access…

Check they are still a member at http://www.dropbox.com/share AND that they are using the right account @"LeoLady" . What sometimes happens is they try and access links on different machines and so actually clicking on it with somebody elses account which doesnt have access.
-
Can you post a screen grab of what shows at http://www.dropbox.com/share ?
-
As long as you are under quota, no, however if you are over quota Dropbox does reserve the rights to delete the files to bring you under. https://help.dropbox.com/storage-space/over-quota
-
You need to contact Dropbox support via http://www.dropbox.com/get_help/login-issue Note that it may not be possible to regain access: https://help.dropbox.com/account-access/lost-email-access

I assume you have checked the usual and that Dropbox is actually running? Also, you havent got the Dropbox folder inside of the OneDrive one or viceversa have you?
-
Dropbox can only replicate what its being told to do, so, something on your device is doing this. How do you mean the files are empty when opened? Are they totally blank? Do you have enough quota on your account at http://www.dropbox.com/account/plans

arzezio_7 wrote:I forgot to turn off automatic payment and now I've been charged Its worth just pointing out that Dropbox do state that refunds are not issued after charges - this is why you are warned multiple times before a charge is made.
