I'm not 100% sure you can. Best suggestion I have is to log a ticket with support via www.dropbox.com/support
-
To add to this you cannot retrieve sent emails for any sort of sharing via Dropbox I'm afraid (links, folders etc.)
-
Image really helps, thank you! Those files are marked as 'online only', so, if you follow this it will download them locally for you and you can open and use as you want.
-
You wont be able to do it on a mobile device - it has to be on web to upload screen shot. Can you give more info on what the error is? Where is it happening etc.
-
You can see all prices and costs at www.dropbox.com/plans. Costs will be based upon where your card is located (so it may be different if its a card in Sweeden).

lindseygilbert wrote:Any information you can share would be greatly appreciated Have you followed the advice already given and done things like the credit card lookup?

If you go to the folder in question, click on 'Show Deleted Items' and then see if you can permanently delete it from there. Usually the owner of the file can delete unless there have been restrictions applied via admin.
-
Apologies the above applies to internal drives such as C:\ You can back up full external drives as it says above. However, that is external only, not internal.
-
That isnt possible or how it works I'm afraid. Dropbox Backup doesn't back up whole drives like other applications does - it moves certain directories to its own folder and backs them up almost continuously (leaving symlinks in the initial location). Dropbox sync (there separate) also doesnt backup drives but rather only…
-
Thats good news!!

There is no support I'm aware of on weekends bar Enterprise Support - and certainly none I (or any other Super User) has access to I'm afraid.

Sorry to hear this :( If its still on her Dropbox account she can just resend it, however, if she deleted it and at the time was not a paid user then recovery only allows for 30 days recovery. If it was over that 30 days its not recoverable, at all, via Dropbox I'm afraid.

Leeness wrote:Dropbox has any system in place that could have removed them? Dropbox can only do what its told to do by another device. So something connected to your account has caused that deletion. How do you mean 'in front of your eyes'? What does www.dropbox.com/events show? Were they in a share? If so are you still in…

What about www.dropbox.com/events does that show anything? How long ago did you last log on?

silvia24 wrote:downloading 2 files. Sounds like its stuck on 2 files which means nothing else sync's and its stuck in the queue. Have you tried rebooting? Can you see what these files are - are any applications open for example? If so try closing them?

Is it still showing at www.dropbox.com/home ?

TBirdUK wrote:Is there a way of marking individual files in the Dropbox folders so that they are not indexed/ uploaded? No there isnt I'm afraid. The only way is to not sync that directory (via Selective Sync, but that removes it off the machine so there are a few work around you need to do), or, pausing syncing.

timpalin wrote:Can anyone at Dropbox give me an update. A small handful of files in the past 24 hours. This can't continue this way! Unfortunatlely they dont work weekends (I'm not an employee so I cant help or I would). All I can suggest is replying to any open tickets to see if they have people around in office.

Simoneo wrote:Why should I have to pay (by upgrading) to get help and is there fine print somewhere saying Dropbox can just start deleting everything? Sorry you are having issues :( However, it is reasonable to pay for a service to get support - especially given there is NO other income for the company here. It isn't like…
-
Try https://www.dropbox.com/account/delete :)
-
If Selective Sync has been activated you should not see them locally - so I would check before deleting anything that its fully updated and selective sync is set up. After that you could test a file or two and see if they also delete online or not just to be safe.
-
What does www.dropbox.com/events show? Note that if the files were deleted over 6 month ago they wont show on this list as that is limit of the list.
-
If they were on Dropbox use www.dropbox.com/events to find them and you can restore from there. Or go to the directory they were in and click on 'Show deleted files'.
-
If they werent sync'd then you cannot recover via Dropbox I'm afraid. Dropbox doesn't know the exist, it has no way to recover what isn't on the cloud. Sorry :(

The email client is doing something dodgy to the link - possibly breaking it across multiple lines in this case. As you can get the link to work on a copy/paste the link is active its just the code behind it that is, well, dodgy! If it happens again next time try sending the emails to Support via www.dropbox.com/support…

Automations works on files, not folders I'm afraid. So it will automate what is inside of the folders not the actual folders themselves: https://help.dropbox.com/organize/dropbox-automations
-
What does www.dropbox.com/events show? How long ago did you last log in? Was it over 12 months ago?
-
Pleased it is sorted, however, what I will say here is that you must put in place some form of secure backups. If that employee (or anybody) used the web to permanently delete them they are not, at all, recoverable via Dropbox. Also, if it is over 30 days and you are a free user, again, not recoverable at all. ALL…

You can use Automations on files but there isn't an equivalent for folders. https://help.dropbox.com/organize/dropbox-automations
