Yes, that will unlink your account, as it sounds like you can't get the desktop app to load. Once the device is unlinked, you can continue with the uninstallation of the app.
-
Do you mean that you quit the app, or uninstalled it entirely? Is it still in your start menu, since it sounds like you're using Windows?
-
Hi @"H20 water", thanks for contacting us! You can do this by first signing out of the Dropbox desktop application, which will stop any changes made from syncing to the site. Afterwards you can uninstall the Dropbox desktop application and delete the local Dropbox folder entirely if you wish. If you have any further…

Hi @"margdoigh", have you tried experimenting using automations on your own Dropbox account to see if they satisfy your requirements?
-
As it sounds like you're not certain, you don't need to disable the antivirus or firewall. It does sound like something in the browser itself is preventing the Dropbox site from working normally, since we're not experiencing this issue here. Please could you try using a different computer to see if the site loads normally…
-
Hi @"Tharanei", did you recently join a Dropbox Business team? Those icons there show a team folder and a personal folder.
-
You'll need to check the McAfee site on how to disable it, as we wouldn't have any information on how to do that.
-
Could you try temporarily disabling it completely to see if this helps with uploading to the Dropbox site?
-
Do you have any proxy, VPN, firewall, security software, or even ISP/router settings that could be restricting traffic to the following Dropbox domains?
-
Hi @"Cathy11", thanks for messaging the Community. Could you try using incognito/private browsing mode without any extensions running, clearing your cache and even resetting your browser entirely? Let me know how it goes!
-
Hi @"MaryEBP", do you have any proxy, VPN, firewall, security software, or even ISP/router settings that could be restricting traffic to the following Dropbox domains?
-
Hi @"cloudres", thanks for posting today! Since the Dropbox folder can only be called 'Dropbox', 'Dropbox (Personal)' or 'Dropbox [Business team name]', the correct folder should be the one with the blue Dropbox icon on it. You can confirm this be seeing which of those two folders have the sync icons on them, confirming…

Hi @"TE16", thanks for bringing this to our attention. How many devices do you currently have connected to your account according to this page? What happens when you download the offline version of the Dropbox desktop application? This will help me to assist further!
-
Hi @"ken_804", I've sent you an email, please could you reply to it when you get a chance!
-
The only method to restore a Dropbox Backup is to download it from the site. However, you can download it directly to an external drive instead of an internal drive.
-
Hi @"tonkotsu2", if you reformatted your external hard drive, this means that it is no longer detected as the same drive as before, which is why there's a different backup being created.
-
Do you mean that folders that are completely unrelated to Dropbox are also being deleted from your computer? Does anyone else have access to your device?
-
Yes, that works, but there should also be a bin icon right next to that slider, like so: Clicking the bin will delete the automation entirely, and return the folder to it's normal state without automation.
-
Okay, on the right hand side, not the left hand navigation window, could you scroll down past the MP3 files and locate the folder in question, and then click the ellipsis next to that folder when you hover over it, like in the below image?
-
Hi @"robertbowlin", thanks for bringing this to our attention. If you don't have any backups or shared folders taking up quota, then you must have some files on your account that are taking up space. You can check and calculate the size of folders on your account by following these steps, and this should help you locate…
-
Hi @"bimlloyd", thanks for contacting us. There are two separate features available, depending on your plan. Domain verification and invite enforcement is available for Dropbox Advanced, Business Plus, and Enterprise plans. A more powerful version, namely domain insights and account capture, is available for Enterprise…

Hi @"MariaD2", thanks for bringing this to our attention. Are you trying to move files from a private, shared or team folder? Could you attach a screenshot showing what you're describing? This will help me to assist further!
-
Hi @"ritesh369", I've opened a ticket for you, please could you reply to it as soon as possible!
-
Hi @"Mirasol", have you already submitted a ticket regarding this matter to the support team?
-
Hi @"J10000", as the search for those characters isn't possible via the site, then you'll need to search for the files in Finder or Explorer manually and change the names from there.
-
Hi @"SS00", as this is related to sensitive billing info, I’d recommend getting in contact with our support team directly to look into this matter in more detail. You can do this by opening an incognito/private browsing window, while not signed into your account, and accessing this link, choose 'Other' and then put in an…

Hi @"dglarseniy", could you try deleting the cache folder using these steps to see if this helps with the Dropbox desktop application?
-

Hi @"MothraNOVA", thanks for the information, please could you contact the support team directly for them to assist further on this matter on their end?
-
Hi @"rose cervantes", as it isn't possible to merge Dropbox accounts, it's possible that the account you mentioned is still active. Are you able to login to that account on the Dropbox site directly? When was the last time you accessed that Dropbox account? Was it recently or over 12 months ago?
