Currently, there isn't a method to see what date your account went overquota, even on our end. Is it possible that the files were deleted from another computer entirely, while connected to your account, outside of the version history? Do you have any apps or services that could automatically move or delete files from the…

Thanks for the info, I've sent you an email, please could you reply to it when you get a chance? In the meantime, if there's anything else we can assist with, feel free to reply back here.

Hi @"joshcgoh", thanks for bringing this to our attention. If you quit the Dropbox desktop application and then try to save a PDF file, are you able to save it? Is this only occurring for PDF files, or for any other filetype in your Dropbox folder? This will help me to assist further!
-
If the account was over quota, then it means that any new files, or edits to files, wouldn't sync these changes to the Dropbox site, meaning that there would be no history for Dropbox to recover the files from. Since there doesn't appear to be any history in the system, likewise there wouldn't be any history for our team…

Okay, so it has been almost 30 days since the last upload, which would be the version history for a Dropbox Basic plan. As you're not seeing the missing files on the events or deleted files page, then there's a few possibilities as to why this might be the case: * The files are on another Dropbox account * The files were…

Thanks for the info. It can take time to receive a response from the team, so we'd recommend waiting for at least 24 hours for the team to respond to your message.

Hi @"nmmorris", thanks for the information. I understand your concern regarding the temporarily disabling of the antivirus software. This is a standard procedure that is necessary to determine if this is what could be preventing the Dropbox desktop application from installing on your computer.
-
Hi @"nat_b1", could you clarify some more details, like the approximate date of when you uploaded those files? Were any of the folders you added the files to also shared folders?
-
Hi @"davykeung", thanks for bringing this to our attention. It looks like your access to creating shared links has been paused. Is it possible that you were trying to share content that might breach the terms listed in this article? This will help me to assist further!
-
If you have any additional information or proof that you wish to provide, you can submit it as a reply to the email you received when you contacted the abuse@dropbox.com address for the team to look into it further.

Hi @"Ed M.27", essentially, what @"Hannah" explained was that the promotional offer cannot be used to renew an existing Dropbox Plus subscription. However, if you're on a Dropbox Basic plan, then you should be able to upgrade and redeem the promotion.
-
Thanks for the update. I would recommend sending another email to that address, as they are the team that specializes in this field, and we wouldn't be able to provide any different responses to them.
-
Hi @"itdrop", thanks for bringing this to our attention. Without letting us know on the Community, is the email address you're referring to using your domain name, or a different one entirely? Have you already forwarded the email to abuse@dropbox.com, if they're attempting to use phishing techniques? This will help me to…

Hi @"Kdaters", I've sent you an email, please could you reply to it as soon as possible!

Hi @"sweetesthoneyb", thanks for bringing this to our attention. What device are you currently using, and what is the current version of your OS and Dropbox desktop application? Have you made any recent updates to your machine in any way? Is the Dropbox folder located on an external drive or internal drive? This will help…
-
Hi @"ataraxy", thanks for your reply. We can confirm that it isn't a member of Dropbox who is uploading the files to Winget, and that said user can be found here. It wouldn't be possible for us to moderate or control what files are uploaded to a third party site. However, we do appreciate the feedback on this matter and we…
-
Hi @"Dieselista", just for clarification, did you also right click the Dropbox folder itself and mark it as available offline, in order for all files to get the green check marks?
-
Hi @"Rik vdk", thanks for bringing this to our attention. We appreciate the feedback regarding the prompts to upgrade your plan and subscription. We take all comments into consideration when improving the Dropbox experience and services we offer. If you have any additional feedback, please let us know!
-
No worries, were you able to disable the feature, and has your experience returned to its previous behavior?
-
Thanks for the details. Could you visit this page on your account, and turn 'Open share links on desktop' to Off. This should revert that behavior to the default.
-
Is this a personal machine, or a company-managed device? Do you have any firewall, security software, or even ISP/router settings that could be restricting traffic to the following Dropbox domains? Could you try temporarily disabling them when installing the app? Lastly, could you download the full version of the Dropbox…

Hi @"LC77", thanks for posting today! We wouldn't be able to predict what effects this would have with your Dropbox account, as having the system folder, and the Dropbox folder on an external drive isn't a common user experience. I'll leave this thread open for other users to comment with their experiences.
