Do the images preview normally when you open them on the computer? Could you attach a screenshot showing what you're seeing in Explorer, and then the subsequent image in Word?
-
Okay, so, to put it simply, images from mobile devices are synced to Dropbox, and the images are copied and pasted on a desktop machine into Word. Since these are iOS devices, are the images being uploaded as JPG or HEIC images?
-
I'm a little confused, you mentioned they were doing the copying and pasting from iPhones into Word. How do they have access to the Dropbox folder on a PC from their iPhone?
-
So, is this in the Dropbox mobile app, or the iOS Files app when the Dropbox location is selected?
-
Hi @"donawalt", thanks for the info. I'd recommend contacting the support team directly for them to investigate this matter in more detail.
-
Could you clarify how you originally copy the photo in order to then paste it into Word? Is the copying done via the Dropbox mobile app, or another app on the devices?
-
Since you have already shared the folder, on the non-team member account you can simply create another folder with the same name elsewhere, and then drag the contents of the shared folder into the new private folder. Does this generate the same error?
-
Hi @"Blair Roof Inspector", thanks for posting today! Could you clarify the exact steps and devices you're currently using to understand what your process is? This will help me to assist further!
-
No, there isn't a method to convert a team folder to a private or shared folder. You ca try sharing the team folder with a non-team member (i.e., the other account you're trying to move to) to see if this helps, or copy the team folder into your personal folder.
-
It won't be possible to move team folders into another shared folder. Are you able to have all the files and folders sync normally onto your computer, if you have enough space?
-
Are you sure that the message wasn't related to this prompt?
-
Hi @"joemseid", we're not experiencing this issue. Is this only occurring on Chrome, or do other browsers have similar issues? Could you try using incognito/private browsing mode without any extensions running, and clearing your cache?
-
Hi @"DHK", thanks for posting today! The files shouldn't be deleted from your computer entirely. It should only be deleted normally, and the file would appear in the Trash like other files. Can you confirm that his behavior has changed on your computer? This will help me to assist further!
-
HI @"ChefKatz", thanks for the info. Are you certain that you have the same email as before when you attempted to login to the Dropbox site? Changing your password wouldn't delete any files on your account. This will help me to assist further!
-
HI @"JamesK30", currently there hasn't been any change regarding the recently viewed links on your account since the last post was made.
-
Hi @"Lauren_", thanks for contacting us! Are you intending to edit the Office files via the native app on your computer, or by the online version available via the Dropbox site (when files are located in the Dropbox folder)? This will help me to assist further!
-
Generally, when you receive a file, you need to save it to a location in order to be able to upload it to the site. There may be some other apps or services that can help upload email attachments automatically to Dropbox.
-
Hi @"JeffCEO", thanks for posting today! Is the file or folder part of a shared folder or a team folder? Are you able to copy the files instead of moving them? Keep me posted!
-
Hi @"Laura42", thanks for contacting us! Just to clarify, you're trying to upload files to your Dropbox account? From which device are you trying to do so? I'm a little confused on what your plan is exactly, so could you describe it step-by-step for me? This will help me to assist further!
-
You can try uploading the files directly to the Dropbox site without using the Dropbox desktop application.
-
It could literally be any open app on your computer. You could try quitting the Dropbox desktop application completely, as well as any open app, and then delete any files or folders you don't want from Finder. If they reappear after that, please let me know.
-
Hi @"WhyDoHumansNoLongerExist", thanks for posting today! Just for clarification, is the website the only place with the updated files? What OSes and Dropbox versions are you running on those devices? This will help me to assist further!
-
Could you check to see if the bandwidth limit is set to no limit, and then allow it time to sync all the files in Finder?
-
Do you see any activity in the Dropbox desktop application when you click the icon in the menu bar? What does the status shown on the bottom left?
-
Hi @"Mickey F.", if the folders are reappearing on your machine, then some other app or service is requesting information from them on your computer via the Dropbox desktop application, and so the folder remains active.
-
Hi @"croqueteer", thanks for posting today! The green icon would appear if you've specifically marked files as available offline on your computer. Could you try marking one of them like that to see if this helps? Keep me posted!
-
Hi @"mprodywus", could you have the users contact the support team directly by opening an incognito/private browsing window, while not signed into their account, and accessing this link. Ask them to make sure to enter the same email they use to login to Dropbox.
-
The files shouldn't be edited from the app if there is no edit access. Have you tried to duplicate this behavior on their end to what options they are seeing?
-
Please don't provide any shared links on the community for security and privacy purposes. Are you certain that the users who are editing the files aren't also invited and are members of the shared folder itself? Are they previewing the file or link via a desktop or mobile Apple device?
-
Hi @"Giova GT", thanks for messaging the Community! The option should be in your phone settings. For a Samsung device, it should be in the Permission manager section. Keep me updated with any progress!
