Just to add — if you ever get the offer again and decide to try it, make sure to cancel before the 30 days are up to avoid being charged if you don't want to continue!

Just my personal view as a user and without commenting on whether this idea would be profitable for Dropbox or not, I think your suggestion of simplifying direct device-to-device sharing is interesting. From my perspective, with Wi-Fi and cloud services widely available today, the practical need for such a solution might…

You can always download files from a shared Dropbox link without making an account. That login/sign-up popup is just there to introduce new users, and even if the ‘Download Only’ option isn’t super obvious at first, you can still get the file without any problem.

Welcome to Dropbox! An internet connection is required to upload, download, and sync files with Dropbox. However, once files are synced to your device, you can access them offline. Any changes made offline will sync automatically when you reconnect to the internet.

Hi Boxer, It looks like your ability to share was paused for one of the reasons explained in the Help Center guide.Based on similar cases I've seen in the community, if this is the first time it happens, it should sort itself out automatically after 24 hours. Please follow up with Hannah so can finalize the issue.

I can totally sympathize with that frustration! It's definitely a pain point forcing extra cleanup work just to recover one single file. The ability to perform a quick search and select individual items for restoration is a critical quality-of-life feature that would bring significant efficiency gains to the system.

Hi Josh, There are some offers like the HP promotion, where purchasing a new HP laptop gives you 100GB of Dropbox storage. However, this is only valid for 12 months and is not a permanent solution.

In Dropbox's Basic (free) plan, any shared files that are added to your account contribute to your storage limit. This includes content within shared folders and files others share with you, as long as they are saved to your Dropbox. To manage this and stay within the Basic plan's 2 GB capacity, you can request the file…

Hi, Are you sure you're signed into the correct Dropbox account on your new computer? This account should match the one you use on your phone where you can see your files. If you are using the correct account but still cannot see your files, try unlinking and relinking your computer. Please note that a basic Dropbox…

Unfortunately, since you deleted the files in March 2021, it has been well over 30 or 180 days, so Dropbox's file recovery feature will likely no longer work in your case. However, if you had Dropbox synced to your local device (computer, mobile, etc.), there's a small chance the files may still be recoverable using file…

I think Dropbox selects users for this plan randomly, so if the link worked for you and you found the Basic Extra plan, that's okay. If not, you should choose from the other available plans

Sorry to hear that. First, I think you should ensure the files you're trying to share are not infected with malware. You can do this by scanning the file with a reputable antivirus program.
