Hi @"Andrea P.8" Yes you can stop them syncing to the device via https://help.dropbox.com/sync/selective-sync-overview. BUT note that this wouldnt, in theory, stop your employer accessing those files if they wanted to via your device. This is because if they had your device they could just go to the website and view things…

@"Jeff231" wrote:Hi Mark, no neither of these suggestions worked. How long ago were the files deleted? Can you post a screenshot of the Events page?

It isnt a bug. It means the shared file is larger than the available space you have in your account (i.e. about 1.5gb). Therefore you need to get more space, or, get the shared folder reduced in size OR if you need readonly access ask for a shared link instead.
-
Move up a directory to the root folder and then tick the folder name and use the option you just used.

Tried the usual - reboot? Checked all software up to date? If so tried a reinstall of Dropbox? www.dropbox.com/downloading

Hi @"Jeff231" If you can see a history at www.dropbox.com/events than it isnt a new account. Can you restore those files from that page or https://help.dropbox.com/delete-restore ?
-
No, I'm afraid not. Every person in the share has the same rights to it - i.e. they can add/edit/delete things. The only possibility is if they have kept a copy elsewhere. What does sometimes happen is that a person moves the files out of Dropbox share to a different directory which deletes from the share, but, they still…

How long ago were they deleted @"NL73" ? If you are a free user you can only recover for 30 days.

Hi @"CLoeffler2" as none of the Dropbox context menu is appearing for the second image are those files within the Dropbox directory?
-
@"keebler" wrote:does it not imply there is a problem with dropbox? suggesting that i am running out of space when i have used none of it? No, it doesnt 🙂 Email errors happen with every company. As long as the image showing 0 used is OK you are fine.

So www.dropbox.com/home is empty?
-
Have you activated backup? www.dropbox.com/backups OR have a shared folder? www.dropbox.com/share

@"Liviuv" wrote:Hi, I expect a response can help me -no discussions that tell me all is impossible . Thank you There are plenty of posts on here where this has been the case. Check you are using the correct URL first - email clients often cut the end off if its over more than one line. If not you need to go back to the original course provider and ask for help. They need to give you a new link

The third would be a third one of your devices using your log ons. You want to create shared folders between you and her for whatever data you wish to share - just remember it will use both of your quotas: www.dropbox.com/share

That looks like whatever uploaded them didnt add the extension to the files. A rename to include .jpg at the end should work.

Phones dont work like the web etc. If they upload on a mobile device they will almost certainly need to reupload it back to Dropbox after the edit (exception to this is SOME Microsoft Office 365 applications will write back to Dropbox, but, its a bit hit and miss). It is obvious if it does this though

Hi @"Kiki_Stanza" The issue is you created a new shared folder, dont. Just create a folder (as I said in my example called 'Share') and put them in that. You dont need a new shared folder as they are already Shared 🙂
-
Hi @"Kiki_Stanza" You can move shared folders around (and rename them) at will, as long as you do not move them inside of another shared folder. So, your plan should work. I, for example, have all of mine in a really originally named folder called 'Shares' 🙂 HOWEVER what I would say is that Dropbox takes time to do this.…

Yes. So they need to log on and accept the share via the email they are sent, or, at www.dropbox.com/share

Try reinstalling Dropbox, and making sure its running: www.dropbox.com/downloading

@"moon_monkey" wrote:The problem is, since I have only a basic account, I have no options to control the online / offline settings on the dropdown menu, so I can't change them. Unless they have a Dropbox account they wouldnt be able to do this. Sharing links to none Dropbox members creates a read only link. They need to edit the file and edit it within Dropbox for others to see it - either Excel on web (when logged in) or by downloading and uploading again.

That sounds like the app on your mobile @"VW2" ? Dropbox desktop is only up to 200.x at the moment? My image, for example, is 199.4.6287

What is the error?

Is a change in the UI not even worthy of a mention on the change log!? Disappointing @"clientreleases" 😞
