If I'm honest I'm not sure - but the symlinks themselves arent in Dropbox, they are at the original location. A google of Microsoft's help pages may help?
-
I'm afraid Dropbox wont support/sync Symlinks. Dropbox only sync's files inside of the Dropbox folder - so the files should be in that location and symlinked at the original

There have been a few people mentioning Epson (and Brother) issues recently. It seems like they've done some tweaks/updates which have broken things. I suggest speaking to them as the issue seems to be software related.

When you downgrade data is not removed or deleted as long as you downgrade and do not close account. Have you checked what www.dropbox.com/events shows? Note you may have issues if your account now is not large enough to hold the data

Phone support is only for paying business customers (note - not on a trial) and there is no email support. All support is via www.dropbox.com/support or here.

@"Greenlaw" wrote:No fix yet. All my shared images are still broken today. It seems to be an intentional change on shared links - based upon the fact that the links themselves work when not on a web page. I would not expect Dropbox to change this - they didnt last time. You would be better off looking at moving to, and…

There seems to have been a change to how links are created/shown over the past few days, yes.
-
Its very unlikley, however, you need to ask Support: https://help.dropbox.com/account-access/lost-email-access You may need to do so while not logged in, even to here, so try using an incognito window

Mine display fine using: Dropbox: 198.4.7615 Apple M1 with 14.4.1 (23E224). When you installed did you grant access to all permissions?

Dropbox doesnt have such a feature. Sorry

Dropbox isnt a hosting site, it shouldnt be used as one for reasons exactly like this. Due to the number of posts on this today I suspect that there has been a decision to change how links work/render which has caused them to fail. This is not the first time they've done this, and it wont be the last. Similar posts are…

On the iPhone do you see a file if you add it on your computer or the website for where the shared folder is (note, not in the share)?

@"aRealHumanBartender" wrote: so irritating and I’m simply going to have to use another host bc this is unacceptable That is exactly the issue - Dropbox isnt, and never ever has been, a web hosting tool. Unfortunately not - Dropbox simply doesnt work like this. All files for Dropbox only sync if they are inside of the 'Dropbox' directory

-
It seems like something has actively changed on Dropbox as videos are not rendering either now (see here). However as Dropbox is NOT a hosting tool this is not unexpected - they have previously done similar to stop people using Dropbox as a web host, so, my guess is that this may be the same again.
-
As Dropbox isnt a hosting tool, it is possible they are actively blocking the rendering of the sites (they have done this previously). Do the links work if you just use the links and not on a web page?

I've just done a quick search and Brother have released a recent update for some of the printers in April. Have you installed that? https://www.brother.co.uk/support/mfc-l2750dw/downloads They also released new firmware in April.
-
The issue though is that as the issue is with Brothers software Dropbox cannot solve that. They cannot change the scripts etc. that they use. The can, and do, offer plenty of support if they want it via the API Team - which they'll have access to already. BUT they need to do it.
-
@"DBinBigD" Jay is an official Dropbox representative. However, the issue remains that, unfortunately, it is up to Brother (and other suppliers) to update API keys, etc. if they expire or are out of date. It sounds like the software link they are using has expired. An update/upgrade to the software / firmware may work

How long have you given it? What does it say if you mouse over the Dropbox icon?
-
You can delete previously linked devices at https://www.dropbox.com/account/security
-
Have you checked it via an incognito window? What about others clearing cache/cookies etc.?
-
That usually happens if you are using a similar network/device that somebody else has used. Are you on a device which has had Dropbox on before?
-
Hi @"CGH7" Have you tried clearing cache/cookies and temp internet files?

If they files were deleted from another device then that would trigger the 30 day window - it just wouldnt sync to devices until they were connected to the internet. So, in theory, a device may never get that 'delete' command if it never re-connected to Dropbox. Have you tried searching on the local machine to see if…

There is no way to restore back I'm afraid.
