We agree Sam. We really do. Have a look over at https://www.dropboxforum.com/t5/Sharing-and-collaboration/Locate-Shared-Folder/m-p/268440/highlight/false#M19192 and post your thoughts there as well.

I am not on the plan so dont know how it works, but, I do know that some people have complained you can only get increases in 1TB increments. So, that may be another question to ask Sales.
-
First off well done on the green card. Secondly the only thing I can say on space is it is not a $20 per month fee... it is $60 as you are paying for a minimum of three users regardless of you using them or not.

Change log? Hint or clue on what these 'improvements' are?
-
A clue as to what these improvements are? We dont see any :(
-
Sounds like the install is corrupt. Can you try and advanced one? https://help.dropbox.com/installs/advanced-reinstall
-
That isnt Dropbox that did that - its another app. Dropbox has no such capability. However, as long as the originals had uploaded to Dropbox you can recover them via https://www.dropbox.com/help/security/recover-older-versions
-
The blue icon will not appear online for the website OR if you are using the mobile version of Dropbox from the app store. It will only appear if you use the 'full' version which has created a 'Dropbox' folder. www.dropbox.com/downloading may also help. Make sure you give it full admin rights

You are in a shared folder (Jamie) which is where I suspect your space is going. As you are deleting things that is automatically filling it back up. So, as you are at 2.79gb of space if the next file in line within the share to add to the account was, say, 200mb it wouldnt be added until you had deleted 200mb of files -…
-
Have you tried restarting Dropbox on your computer? Can you post a screengrab of the page at Dropbox showing your account useage?
-
How are you deleting the files Jamie? Can you tell me the way you are doing it?
-
Sounds like LiquidText have broke something in a recent update on the iPad side of things. Odd.
-
Make sure you are using the most recent versions of LiquidText - older ones probably wont work now as Dropbox depreciated some old API recently
-
Have you tried manually updating? www.dropbox.com/downloading
-
Sounds like theres been a slight downtime overnight. Pleased its all sorted. TreyInSD - could you try a reboot of your devices and try again? If that doesnt work I suggest logging a ticket at support - www.dropbox.com/support which you can then track at http://dropbox.zendesk.com

I think the biggest thing is that the two systems are genuinely like chalk and cheese. The .lnk files are Windows specific (i.e. they are simply not made for Mac operating systems of any type) and then factoring in the whole no file system etc. on the mobile just complicates things. The only thought I have would be if you…

Edit: and I agree, threads should not be getting closed this quickly, I've no idea why they are but its unhelpful and makes the forums less welcoming. I do know, however, that Rich wont have been the one to close it!
-
No there isnt. Thats because shortcuts are files and while iOS does support shortcuts in the fact it will allow it to be a file on the device you cannot 'follow' it because there is no folder structure on iOS devices. Everything is in the cloud. Also, shortcuts are computer specific which is another reason they wont work.
-
Personally I cannot comment on it as I dont use it. I know lots do. For me I just encrypt my whole hard drive (Mac) and then have strong passwords on the user accounts so nobody else can access it.
-
Welcome to the forum! You seem to have missed the fact that Dropbox is a syncing tool. It is designed to have EVERYTHING on your local machine as well as in the cloud and on any linked devices for that exact reason. So, everything you put in Dropbox is in a folder on your machine called 'Dropbox' which is accessible to…
-
Thats because it isnt being downloaded, its just previewing via the website (IE/Edge etc. is really bad at this). The only way to do it otherwise would be to download it to the computer and then NOT use the 'open' options in Edge and open it via wherever it was downloaded to.

*moves to API area*
-
You'll need to download them to a device first before re-uploading to Dropbox I'm afraid. I'm not aware of any transfer tools which will do it for you
-
Change log!?
-
You can set it so that they cannot share THAT ONE SPECIFIC folder. But there is *nothing* to stop them copying the files to another folder and sharing a link to that.
-
The issue was fixed in the next release (i.e. in October) I'm afraid Joe hence no more posts. Therefore the issue is not this one. Have you made sure you have location services turned on for Dropbox on your phone?
-
You are welcome. But just to add. Please remember that NOTHING can ever stop somebody who wants to pass something on. Even with sharing controls
-
See https://www.dropbox.com/help/files-folders/shared-links And you'll need a Professional or higher account to do it
-
You can download files that are sync'd you just need to tap on the ... first. See: That is for an Excel spreadsheet which IS downloaded locally. I clicked on the file which opened it in Excel online and then clicked on the ...'s to get that menu. Not very user friendly I agree though. OR If you want to download multiple…

You cant I'm afraid - everything on the internet (not just Dropbox) is shareable if they have the link. So, the only way to stop it is to make sure the other person doesnt pass it on. You could add passwords etc. to the link or file, but, that doesnt stop the other person sending it. You could also put it in a Shared…
