They've listened pbarney... they are starting to appear over on the Beta builds pages but maybe a few days delayed: https://www.dropboxforum.com/t5/Desktop-client-builds/Beta-Build-50-3-68/m-p/276583#M4610

I'm afraid not - certainly not automatically anyway. Dropbox isnt a backup tool and so it lacks the functionality that would come with a backup program.

Hi Anita Have a look at https://www.dropboxforum.com/t5/Sharing-and-collaboration/GDPR-Compliance-for-Personal-Free-Accounts/m-p/275027#M19691 Dropbox IS GDPR compliant, but, like most of this stuff its based upon your own Risk Assessments. I am using Dropbox to store information on my business (swim school enrolments,…

No, there is no limit. It just slows things down initially as there are overheads on checking each file. I can quite easily upload movies of a few GB here in a couple of minutes, but, thats because everything else is already sync'd and so the overheads are low. Have a look…

There is no cap at Dropbox's end, but, that does not mean there are not caps elsewhere. What is worth noting, however, is that uploads are always very slow with Dropbox initially because it uploads files smallest -> largest after its recreated the directory structure. Because it individually has checks every file it means…

Hey Mitch, Thats not something I've ever seen on here before, but, it would make some sense. Thank you for posting :)
-
I'm afraid you are stuck then - and I doubt you'll get this with any organisation without paying massive amounts (because to do so is very labour intense). If they are stating this make sure you are also investigating things like your email providers etc.
-
It is not incorrect at all. I'm in the UK and it is acceptable to use things like Safe Harbour to do so as the requirements are based upon the specifics of individuals things may be different (I deal with parents of children in a swim school, not holding massive amounts of personal data etc.). So, I have informed all my…

Have you read the links supplied Aukevn? It depends who you need Dropbox to be doing in order for you to decide if it is compliant or not. Dropbox on its own IS compliant because of how the data is stored etc. But, if you deem you need additional controls (maybe access logs etc.) then you will need a higher package than a…

This was asked just below your post... have a look over at https://www.dropboxforum.com/t5/Photos-and-videos/How-can-I-find-the-total-number-of-files-in-a-folder/m-p/276877#M11257 :)

Simply -Unlink the current Dropbox -Delete the Dropbox folder -Re-run Dropbox (maybe reinstall so you get a new version at www.dropbox.com/downloading) -Either log in with your new account or use the option to set up a new one. Instructions to link/unlink: https://www.dropbox.com/help/mobile/unlink-relink-computer-mobile
-
If its larger than about 2gb the zip files can get corrupt. Download them one at a time, or, install Dropbox (www.dropbox.com/downloading) and let them download locally that way. You do, however, need to make sure that the computer has the appropriate codecs to play everything installed.
-
Try and see if you can re-add it via https://www.dropbox.com/help/files-folders/add-shared-folder If not. Log a ticket with support via www.dropbox.com/support which you can then track at http://dropbox.zendesk.com
-
There is no way to do this natively with Dropbox I'm afraid. However, that is a lot of data so it sounds like something may not be right! Which version of Dropbox you using?
-
As well as unsharing you also need to delete the files. Basically if you can see things at www.dropbox.com/home they use your quota. Deleted files use no space so permanently deleting makes no difference.
-
Click on the three ...'s top right Click on 'Export' or 'Save to Camera Roll' (or similar). Export may also give you option to send to WhatsApp.
-
You will need to download the audio to your device and then reupload it to Whats App
-
Why? What happens? We need more info I'm afraid
-
No it isnt, its as I said that both iCloud and Dropbox will try and lock the file for syncing reasons as will the program you are using. All of those locks can cause issues.
-
Note the above can cause massive data loss and corruption as both tools will be trying to lock the data to sync it. It is STRONGLY recommended you do not do this. There are lots of posts on here from people who have lost stuff by doing that.
-
Unfortunately anybody can mark any post as solved. So another user has marked the post as solved I'm afraid.
-
Not with Dropbox and not easily or without causing possible data loss I'm afraid. You are going to have to manually copy and paste the data over between the two whenever you want to get the data between the two.
-
Personally I agree... I dont really use Zip files as I've enough space on my account to have them on their unzipped. Maybe its worth lodging a ticket with support and asking if it can become a variable option on links, or, if business a per-company setting
-
I seriously doubt it will change back I'm afraid - as its been one of the top requests for Dropbox to do pretty much since the start.
-
Please do NOT use Databases within Dropbox M_A_S. You are so so lucky that you've actually not ended up with the database becoming corrupt. This is because both Dropbox AND Microsoft are trying to put locks on the file when its in use to sync/save etc. Databases simply are not designed to be sync'd/ Syncing databases are…

Hi Tom As somebody in the UK the biggest thing you need to make sure is that the end users whos data is being stored is aware of it being stored AND that it is stored outside of the EU. Same goes if they email things in they need to know where those email servers are (e.g. Office365 = USA etc.).
-
Is it just one folder or them all? What version of the app are you using?
-
You need to give us that info that is inside the linked txt file Ozone.
-
Hence a request to log a ticket if not already done so and post screengrabs. Oh and version numbers help so things can be logged together :)
-
It is accurate and correct information TheAtanaGroup, but, if thats NOT happening for you as has been requested can you log a ticket and post screenshots. Remember as well that if your Dropbox folder is not on the main drive (i.e. C usually) it could be one of the two drives thats causing the issue.
