This is something I've asked, in fact begged for, for years. The fact that Dropbox shows everything on that tab is an awful security issue and means we cannot store a lot of work information on Dropbox.

Welcome @"DaveLyons" ! I have a similaar sort of set up but as you cannot differentiate on uploaded files (although it does ask email when people upload....!) what I've done is have a folder with the dead original title of 'File Requests' and inside there a structure of lots of subfolders, each relating to a Project or…

I believe this is expected behaviour as it has been deprecated: Dropbox Integration with Zoom deprecated. | The Dropbox Community

Just to add to this and make clear, if you delete the files off your account they WILL also delete for everybody else. You need to unshare whole folders first to avoid this from happening. It isnt possible to unshare subdirectories only.

Mom2Chaos wrote:I AM trying to transfer 550 GB, but I have plenty of room Do you have space on your hard drive as thats where the files are trying to be saved? Dropbox is just a folder on your device like any other so uses up space and quota. Once the files have uploaded then you can remove them locally via Online Only…

Hi @"Archiblog" I actually think the issue they've referred to relates to the number of files you can store rather than the size of the files. The soft limit on files is usually around 300,000 irrespective of the size of them: https://help.dropbox.com/storage-space/file-storage-limit

Thats helpful @"Walter" - probably worth updating the help articles to state that.

Uriel1 wrote:So, maybe the solution is not to logged in at the same time? You can try it, but, I'm not sure it would work - it certainly wont both at the same time. The issue is that Dropbox creates hidden temp files, which are its database. If you log on to a different account the database could become corrupt and it…

How are you uploading? That can vary what happens.

Dropbox cannot delete things on its own; it can only replicate what it's told to do - so something has told Dropbox to delete files. How did you move the directories around? Were the files sync'd to the computer, even as offline ones?
