Hi Kit, how were you able to see who was on a file? Were you editing the file online, or using the apps on the machines themselves? Did you have the Dropbox Badge running on both devices, which would then show if someone was in the same document elsewhere? https://www.dropbox.com/help/business/badge-overview If so, what…

That’s correct, this is because the login screen for the Dropbox desktop application emulates a browser to render the page. If the page is blank, then as has been mentioned, a proxy, VPN, firewall, security software, or even ISP/router settings are blocking or restricting connections to Dropbox servers. Despite that, in…

And Word or Excel crash regardless if the Dropbox desktop application is running or not, when you navigate to that folder? There is a small possibility that this is an Office issue. Could you see if there any updates for Word, Excel, Powerpoint etc.? Like my previous post, it might fix any issues in that program for any…

Sometimes features are revealed on the day, and we see it at that moment here. We can’t see any potential releases, but it doesn’t necessarily mean it’ll never happen. As Rich said, the moment something is on the web and can be viewed with a URL, it can be copied: - Right click and view the URL to save it using a third…

Actually, when I view version history, if you click the filename on the left, you'll be able to immediately preview that file, and then on the top right you’ll get the options to either restore to that version or to directly download the file. See the following images: Could you try testing it out to let me know if it…

The trend I’ve seen so far in this thread is that users are reinstalling the Dropbox desktop application and the app works again. Then again, it doesn’t work, and Terminal commands work. And then again, they don’t. Since we don’t have these issues here, I can only speculate that perhaps installing an update for High Sierra…

The telling point here is that even with the Dropbox desktop application closed, you’re still getting errors when saving Word documents into that folder. If the Dropbox app did affect things, then quitting the app would only make that folder a normal, non-syncing folder, as with all other folders on your computer. Does…

My query was just to see if they had the gray icon, that’s all. Could you check if you’re running a beta version of the Dropbox desktop application. You can do this by hovering your mouse over the Dropbox icon in the system tray or menu bar. It should say something like 41.4. If it says 42.3, then you’re running the beta.…
-
What icon is showing on those folders in Explorer? You can use the previous post to check which one it is.
-
There shouldn’t be any brown arrows… The only icons we have on files and folders are as follows: Synced (and in terms of Smart Sync, locally stored) Sync in progress A file or folder isn't syncing due to Selective Sync Sync not happening Smart Sync - Online-only content Smart Sync - Folders with both online-only and local…
-
Just so you know, but when you want the folders with the arrows to sync, then you need to check them, and then uncheck the other two folders, 144 and 177. Let us know if we’re misunderstanding something here!
-
Right, since you’re still getting an error message for video uploads, we’d recommend that you email us at https://www.dropbox.com/support/email/dropbox_app/submit so we can check this out here. Let me know when you’ve done so!
-
If that's the case, there is still a small workaround (note that I admittedly haven’t tested it out here…) You can export the file from the Dropbox to your local storage, SD card, wherever you want so long as you remember where it was! Open the file, and depending on your Android settings, you should be able to choose the…

This is what I was thinking, that there might be a more basic issue at hand. If all video uploads aren’t working, then we need to start from there. Try first removing the videos from the Camera Roll. You can always manually upload them to Dropbox using the app, or simply use the desktop camera upload for the same behavior.…

Hey @"Aliciahomestage", thought I'd help a little by merging your thread with this one, since we're looking into this matter. We appreciate your patience!
-
Interesting… Do the automatic video uploads work fine when they’re not in 4K mode?
-
Hey there, since 4K videos are generally massive in size, are you using WiFi for them to upload to the Dropbox servers via the iPhone? Also, are you using the automatic camera uploads or manually uploading the videos into the Dropbox app?

So now, any time you want to ‘back something up online and off-site’, drag it into the _BACKUP folder on the computer. This can even include entire folders! Login to Dropbox.com, open that folder and select the files/folders Move them to the new folder you created. Once the move is complete, those files will ‘disappear’…
-
Let's prep your account for this: Create two folders in your Dropbox folder, it doesn’t matter matter what you call them. For the sake of simplicity, I called them ‘_BACKUP’ and ‘BACKUP’ Via Selective Sync in the desktop app ‘Sync’ tab, uncheck the BACKUP folder so it no longer appears on your computer. Keep _BACKUP…
-
First, a brief recap on the Dropbox features. Smart Sync is a way to view all your files on your computer, while only having them take up a fraction of the space. However, as that only comes with Dropbox Plus, Professional and Business plans, you might not have access to this feature. Selective Sync is another way to keep…

Hey Debbie, if you're referring to photos as seen in the Photos page, then it isn't possible to select multiple photos using the Shift key. The functionality is still possible from the normal 'My files' page.
-
We just tested it on our devices here. The only two possibilities for the context menu to not appear is if we're not looking in the Dropbox folder, or if the Dropbox desktop application isn't running (or working as it should). As you've mentioned that both are not true, we'll need you to write in to our support team to…
-
Just to confirm, in the Dropbox folder, you do see the sync icons on all files and folders, correct?
-
Thanks for the update. In the Dropbox folder, can you see the syncing icons on the files and folders, they should be mostly green ticks with perhaps one or two blue arrows for the syncing files? In Windows, please also ensure that you're not accessing the Dropbox folder via the 'Quick Access' or 'Favorites' on the left.…

Hey there, @"epage722", firstly, it looks like you're running the beta version of the app. Our first step would be to downgrade you to the stable build to ensure this isn't due to that reason. Please login to the following page: https://www.dropbox.com/account Once there, uncheck the "Include me in early releases" button.…

Thanks, you can get him to copy and paste the forum thread URL in his support ticket for us to see the history behind the case too.

Hey there, is the issue only that the Dropbox desktop application trying to update? There isn't currently an option in the Dropbox settings to prevent the app from downloading updates, so I'm a little confused as to how you're preventing this. Could you provide a few more details on this matter in order to assist further?…

Hey there, which browser are you using? Could you try a different browser, or even running in Incognito or Private Browsing mode? Another more basic question, is any file or folder selected on the Dropbox page? If so, you'll only get file actions and not options to create a new folder.
-
In that case, it sounds like your friend doesn't have a shared folder. 'Only me' means that it is a private folder, or shared with nobody. Could you ask your friend to check how they joined the shared folder? Did they add the shared folder to their account or if it was a link to a shared folder, did they Save it to their…

Hey Colin, The first possibility is that the two of you have different subscriptions. Since you're able to add files and see them online, you might have purchased a Plus subscription. As your colleague cannot see any changes, they might not have upgraded to Plus. Quota is essentially the issue here, if they're overquota,…
