If a file is added to the Dropbox folder in Finder, the creation date of the file will remain as the original. If a file is uploaded to the site directly, then the current date and time would be the modification date.

Just to be certain, the Dropbox mobile app is installed on your device, correct? In the iOS Files app, could you tap Locations and see if Dropbox is enabled there?
-
If you're not on a Dropbox Basic plan with more than 3 devices connected, could you try an advanced reinstall of the app using the steps in this link?

Hi @"Power Diary", are you able to temporarily bypass Helpscout, or there has been an update on their end to see if this service is blocking emails sent from Dropbox domains?
-
Hi @"stefanosky71", is this a new installation on this device, or was there a recent OS or Dropbox desktop application update?
-
Hi @"RebeccaLee", in the Dropbox folder in Finder, do you see any syncing icons on the files or folders?
-
Hi @"Slacasse", since AirDrop itself seems to generate a new creation date of the file, this wouldn't be related to Dropbox as it is a different process unrelated to Dropbox. The Dropbox site also doesn't store the creation date of files, only the modification date of any file. Whenever a file is uploaded to the site…

Hi @"Kali4672", the Gmail app on your device could use the iOS Files app to locate and attach files. You can find the Files app using these steps, according to the Apple site.
-
Hi @"Trush861", are you opening files via the Dropbox mobile app, or are you opening them in Word directly?
-
Hi @"areader", we do recommend uninstalling and reinstalling the Dropbox mobile app as a first step to check if there is some form of conflict preventing the notifications from being removed. I've merged your post to an appropriate thread.
-
Hi @"Myrna1", when was the last time you added files into your Dropbox folder on your computer directly? If you add a file there now, does it appear on the Dropbox site?
-
Could you try reinstalling the app, without uninstalling it first, by using this link.

Hi @"Joycegtx1951", thanks for bringing this to our attention. When you delete files from the computer, could you attach a screenshot showing the prompt you're getting? This will help me to assist further!
-
Hi @"pictureSaver", thanks for messaging the Community! The Photos tab detects any images across your whole Dropbox account, and displays it there. Clicking a photo shows the photo and the sidebar on the right will show the current location of that image at the top. If you have any further queries, feel free to message…

The cloud icon means files are online-only, while no cloud means files are available. To be available offline, they need to be marked as such. Could you take a screenshot of Finder showing the context menu for the file that it's available offline?
-
Hi @"neamtuumarius", I've sent you an email, please could you reply to it when you get a chance!

Was the file created originally on the Dropbox site, or by the Excel app on the mobile or desktop? Is the file in a private or shared folder?
-
Hi @"Gioxx", thanks for the info, I'd recommend checking with the support team directly on this matter for them to assist further on their end.
-
Okay, so you're running the newer version of the Dropbox desktop application for Mac OS. When you right click the files to make them available offline, do they get a green icon with a white tick in it?
-
Hi @"Michael_T", when you're running the new version of the Dropbox desktop application for Mac OS, files won't be downloaded automatically. You'd need to mark them as available offline, or mark entire folders as available offline, and the files in that folder would download.
-
Hi @"fedeboraxx", could you check the Dropbox desktop application to see the current location of the Dropbox folder?
-
Hi @"Margaret2003", as you mentioned you're on a trial plan, you should have access to email and chat support. Phone support is only available to team admins on Dropbox Business teams at this time. If you wish, you can continue there directly. Regarding the computer backup, do you see any active backups on the site on this…
-
Hi @"Cody_P", if you're not seeing any sync icons, then it means that something else is occurring. Have you trying installing the app again, without uninstalling first, by using this link?
-
Hi @"ben_galaxy", aside from the official Word app, or do you also have the Microsoft 365 app installed, which is a separate app on its own?
-
Hi @"NataliDex", thanks for bringing this to our attention. Is the image the only prompt they get about a potential virus, and nothing from the Dropbox site? What about if the user extracts the zip file and then scans the files inside it? Since Dropbox doesn't filter out viruses if you're accidentally sharing them, it…

Hi @"libra labels", thanks for your message. If a device is switched off completely, then the OS itself, and any program on that machine wouldn't run as there is no power. The same would apply to the Dropbox app. If you have any further queries, feel free to message back.
