Thanks for the details. I think it would be best to contact the support team since they have more tools and steps available to troubleshoot this matter for you. You can submit a ticket to the team via this link while logged into your Dropbox account.

Hi @"heiner_greenman", thanks for bringing this to our attention. This is correct regarding the larger folders, as they cannot fit in a zip file for the download to be processed. As a workaround, you could try using the Dropbox desktop application itself, and making the external drive as the location for the Dropbox…

What happens exactly when you select the folder in the Dropbox Backup window for that folder?
-
Yes, with a shared folder, the other user would require a Dropbox account to access it on their account, and it would take up quota as well. However, a shared link to a folder, which I referred to earlier, isn't the same, and can be accessed by anyone without a Dropbox account.

Hi @"Eric333", thanks for bringing this to our attention. If the name isn't personal, could you let us know what is the name of the folder that you're trying to select in order to have it included in the external drive backup? How large is the folder you want to add to your Dropbox Backup? This will help me to assist…
-
Hi @"DukeOfURL", thanks for contacting us! Are you referring to creating a shared link to a Dropbox folder? This will allow users to view files within the folder on the Dropbox site. This will help me to assist further!

Hi @"EvaChang", I think it would be best to contact the support team since they have more tools and steps available to troubleshoot this matter for you. You can do this by opening an incognito/private browsing window, while not signed into any account, and accessing this link. From there you should be able to contact…

No worries, I'm glad to see that this helped out. We appreciate the feedback about the size of the Share button, and we take all comments into consideration when improving the Dropbox site and services.

If you use Safari in private browsing mode without any extensions, do you still get the same behavior on your device?
-
Hi @"MVJump", it looks like you've both shared the file (as it says 'Unshare file' at the bottom), and created a shared link to the file. If you share a file directly to a user, they would require a Dropbox account to view the file. Instead of sharing the file directly to users via their email address, could you copy the…

Hi @"PeteTheSwede", thanks for messaging the Community. When you say that you had those folders in the Dropbox folder 'earlier', could you clarify when this was? Were you using the Dropbox Backup feature by any chance at that time? This will help me to assist further!
-
Hi @"flingfuelexit18171231", thanks for contacting us. The steps there should still be applicable when connecting a new device to your Dropbox account. If you need any further assistance, please let me know!

Hi @"gmarkdunning", thanks for posting. We appreciate the feedback regarding including HEIC files as an option when uploading image to Dropbox Sign. We take all comments into consideration when improving the Dropbox site and services. If you have any further queries or suggestions, feel free to message back.

Did you actually sign out of the Dropbox desktop application after seeing the username currently signed in there, and not just quit the desktop app and re-open it?
-
Yes, that is the Dropbox desktop application which is used for syncing files. It does look like it's already signed into a Dropbox account, as it states it's up to date (meaning that there is a Dropbox folder on your computer which is syncing correctly), so you can check which account is signed in there use the previous…
-
You're signing into the Dropbox site, and not the Dropbox desktop application, could you ensure that the desktop app is installed and running when you attempt to sign into it?
-
As it says at the top that 'This is an unlinked Dropbox', this means it isn't live or connected to any account. You'll need to sign into the correct account in the Dropbox desktop application. Have you tried signing out of the account and signing back in using these steps?
-
Hi @"RLAZ", thanks for contacting us! Just for clarification, did they delete the entire Dropbox team, including all member accounts, or did they convert your account back to a Basic personal plan before deleting the team? Do you see any of your missing files on the Dropbox site on this page? This will help me to assist…
-
Hi @"Alan R.12", thanks for messaging the Community! If you're not on a Dropbox Basic plan with more than 3 devices connected, could you try an advanced reinstall of the app using the steps in this link? Keep me updated with any progress!
-
Hi @"RickCarraher", thanks for joining the Community! Just for clarification, OneDrive is another cloud provider by Microsoft, so there shouldn't be any OneDrive links being used in this case. After you create a shared link to an MP3 file, you can try forcing the file to render in a browser using these steps. It should be…

It's possible that you might have too many files in that folder, so it won't be able to calculate the size. You can try going into the folder itself and then try calculating the size of the subfolders to see if this works.
-
If the DMG file isn't mounting, this could be a potential issue with the Mac device. Could you try rebooting the Mac to see if this helps when reinstalling the desktop app?
-
Hi @"Juhn", could you try reinstalling the Dropbox desktop application, without uninstalling it first, by using this link?
-
Have you recently updated Safari, or added any new extensions? It's likely that a setting in Safari is preventing the Dropbox site from loading correctly.
-
Hi @"Joeyandy", thanks for contacting us. Are you able to see any trial on the payments page when logged into your Dropbox account? This will help me to assist further!
-
Hi @"damosol", thanks for messaging the Community. Could you try using incognito/private browsing mode without any extensions running, clearing your cache and even resetting your Safari browser entirely? Let me know how it goes!
-
Hi @"RB_Construction", @"L_Carper", at this point it might be better for the support team to look into this in more detail. You can contact them directly via this link, and they'll be able to investigate further.
-
Hi @"jlawren", it sounds like you're sharing a file directly to a user, meaning it will appear in their Dropbox account under this page. Is it possible that those users have disabled notifications from Dropbox, or have blocked emails from certain Dropbox domains in their email provider?
-
Have you tried clicking on the down arrow next to one of the existing column titles, and then choosing the Size option to make that appear? This will then give you the option to calculate the folder size.
-
Hi @"Ananda13", thanks for messaging the Community! Does the folder contain a lot of files or folders inside it? Could you try switching browsers to see if the same behavior occurs again? Otherwise, you can try using incognito/private browsing mode without any extensions running, clearing your cache and even resetting your…
