Hi there, @"chrstmar", thanks for posting to our Community today! Would you mind clarifying if this is a folder that's already in your Dropbox? Or are you just setting up Dropbox on a new computer and you simply want to add these files and sync them to your account? Have you tried dragging and dropping them to the Dropbox…

Hey @"Grahamdragon", can you try these steps? * Click on the Dropbox icon in your system tray/menu bar * Click on your initials/profile pic/gear icon * Click on Preferences * Click on the "Backups" tab

Hey @"gsegallis", thanks for taking the time to post your feedback. To give some additional info on this, sharing a folder with someone doesn't mean that you're sharing your account's space with them; shared folders take up space in each member's account. In your case, your church can send you a file request, which will…

Hey @"Grahamdragon", from what you're reporting, it seems like you have enabled the external backup feature on your Dropbox application and an external drive of yours is taking up your space and bringing your account over its quota. You can disable that by following these steps. I hope this helps!
-
Hey @"MrSuddenJoy", did you check out the article that Megan linked you? It contains all the info/causes of issues like this and it should help you narrow down the cause for your case as well.
-
Sorry to hear that, @"nicktomk". Have you checked your spam folder as well? If it's not there, make sure to also add no-reply@dropbox.com to your email contacts and try again.
-
Hey @"nsns", we do apologize for the delay and we can see that you're already in contact with the specialized agent working on the case, so for any updates, make sure to check with them on the ticket. And regarding your issue, @"annabr", would it be okay if we reached out to you via email as well, so we can investigate…
-
Thanks for checking, @"hugoborjeson". In that case, can we send you an email, so we can take a closer look?
-
Hey @"skuchukh1", just out of curiosity, did you get some kind of error message, when you tried to add the file with the same name inside this folder? And how are you adding the duplicate file to the folder? By drag and drop?
-
Hi there, @"CDH10", and sorry to hear that your files are missing. How long ago was the last time that you logged in to your account and accessed your files? Is it possible that instead of logging in, you were actually prompted to create a new account with your email address? Also, please let me know what you see in your…

Hi there, @"gordon451", thanks for your post! Would you mind sending us a screenshot of the message you see about the owner, so we can have a visual? Thanks in advance.
-
Sorry to hear that, @"hugoborjeson". Is it possible for you to try upgrading, while connected to a different WiFi/router or mobile data, to see if that helps?
-
Thanks for the screenshots, @"FBarros", they've really clarified the issue. This is actually an issue that our developers are aware of and are working on a solution. I moved you to the relevant thread, so you'll get an update, when the team has one.
-
Hey @"e4je", thanks for bringing this to our attention. If you received emails with suspicious contents or links for shared files, etc., we suggest forwarding these emails to abuse@dropbox.com. Don't create and send a copy of the email, just forward it as it is. You won't receive a response, but our team will know what to…

Hi there, @"ap support", thanks for taking the time to post to our Community. I moved your post to a thread that has lots of info relevant to your inquiry. Make sure to check it out and if you have any questions, please let us know.
-
Thanks for checking, Sam! So, once the update is finished, you shouldn't be able to see your backed up folders inside the Dropbox folder anymore. They'll still be backed up, but they should go back to their original locations, the ones they were in, before you had enabled backup, so you should be able to access them from…
-
Hmm, is it possible that you're trying to copy files that were online-only and not available offline?
-
Thanks for the update, @"FBarros". Can you let us know, or even better, send us a screenshot of the exact error you're getting? Also, which version of the app are you using? You can see that by hovering over the Dropbox icon in your system tray.
-
Thanks for the update @"Catalina1" and for the feedback @"Erich23". Is it possible that the update hasn't finished yet? What do you see when you hover over your Dropbox icon?
-
Thanks @"PapaNinjago" and @"jdc_smiley" for bringing this to our attention. @"PapaNinjago", if you haven't already, please make sure to restart your computer, to see if that helps. As for you, @"jdc_smiley", do you have a Dropbox icon in your system tray? If so, please hover over it and let me know what you see.
-
Hey @"gauravachaiah", sorry to jump in. Just to confirm, did you try following Walter's steps to submit a ticket?
-
Sorry to hear about this, @"samburden". After the update is complete, your desktop and downloads folders should be back in their original locations. Is it possible that the Dropbox app hasn't finished updating yet? If you hover over your Dropbox icon, what do you see?
-
Hey @"greem_ddeul", welcome to our Community! I understand that the Camera Uploads folder is missing from your local Dropbox folder, however, in your second reply, I can see that you've posted the selective sync steps. Were you able to re-sync the folder, after following those steps? Thanks!
-
Thanks for the update, Monica and happy Monday! Can you send me a screenshot of the settings of the link itself? To see these settings, click on the share button next to the folder on dropbox.com, and then click on the gear icon.
-
Hey @"FBarros", thanks for bringing this to our attention. If the firewall in question is blocking the Dropbox app, have you tried whitelisting Dropbox on the firewall settings or removing it from its black list? You can see more about that here. Let me know how it goes!
-
Hey @"torrmundi", sorry to jump in here. Without renaming your old Dropbox folder, this won't work, I'm afraid. You'll need to rename your existing Dropbox folder to "Dropbox (old)" or similar. Then, once you select the location that you want for the Dropbox folder and the app starts to sync, you'll need to pause syncing.…
-
Hey @"Catalina1", I'm sorry to hear this. How are things today? Did the update finish or are you still having this issue?
-
Hey @"Joanaa", what you're describing is the Dropbox Backup feature; you can see more about the feature here. The feature did get an update and from now on you won't see the Desktop, Downloads, Documents folders inside the Dropbox folder. As long as backup is still enabled, they will appear in your backups page online,…

We appreciate everyone's feedback here. To those still having this issue, have you reached out to our support team yet and can share your ticket numbers about this?
-
Sorry to hear about this, @"tcuker". Can you actually check your menu bar at the top of your screen, by the WiFi icon? If the app is running, you should have a small Dropbox icon there; hover over it and let us know what you see.
