Hey @"Mattinna", thanks for the nudge here and sorry to see you're having trouble. When you say that Dropbox support is not answering you, do you mean that you submitted a help request and didn't receive a reply? Can you please give me the ticket number for this communication, so I can look it up in our system? If you…

Thanks for the update here! Just to make sure I got this right, you're opening the sync preferences on your new computer, but you're not seeing your newest folders in the selective sync settings, only older ones? Are these new folders synced to your account and are you able to access them from your account online?
-
I think what Megan actually means, is that it would have been best if you allowed everything to sync first before disabling backup, which is true. If you've already disabled it, can you check if the app is still trying to sync the files even now?

Thanks for getting back to us about this, @"fosterdouglas"! We appreciate you giving us the results of your communication with our specialists and I'm happy to see that your issue is resolved. If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to let us know. Have a wonderful day!
-
Hey everyone! I can see that some of you are saying that this issue is now resolved for you, so thank you for keeping us all in the loop. Is there anyone who is still having trouble with this?
-
Hey @"rocketmanblamb", thanks for reaching out to us. At the moment, there's no way to either move or rename the backup folders, I'm afraid. I will however pass your comments along to our team about this, so thank you for your feedback here. If you have any other questions, let me know!

Hey @"garysch37", thanks for posting to our Community today. I just tested this on my end and it seems you're right, but I'm afraid there's no way to scroll or swipe on the photos at the moment. I would definitely suggest you post an idea about this on our idea board, though. That way, other users who may find this useful…

Hey @"cranerr", sorry to jump in here! How did it go when you used a different browser? Also, you can follow the steps here, to see the size of files and calculate the size of folders on our website.
-
Hey @"jvoong", thanks for bringing this to our attention. Did you perhaps install any security apps like an antivirus or maybe you have a firewall that might be blocking Dropbox from connecting? If you do, try temporarily disabling those, to see if that helps. Let me know what you find!
-
Hey @"sloohand", thanks for posting your question here! Can you just clarify one thing for me? Did you manually add these files to your Dropbox folder? How did they end up trying to sync in the first place? Is it possible that they were saved to your Desktop/Documents/Downloads folders and you enabled our backup feature?
-
Hey @"Chuckles333", sorry to jump in here. To see the syncing status that Megan asked you to check, you'll need to hover over the Dropbox icon in your system tray/menu bar with your mouse. As for the file you're updating, truth is that only if you update the file that's inside the Dropbox folder, will the file get updated…
-
Hey @"mebrooks", thanks for taking the time to post to our Community. Can you please clarify with me exactly what you'd like to do? Are you trying to back up the Desktop folders of this new computer to your Dropbox account? If so, you'll need to turn on the backup feature on this computer. Are you missing other Dropbox…
-
Hey @"johnrinek", thanks for taking the time to post here! Are you seeing the green check mark in the white circle on files as well, instead of just folders? Would you mind sending over some screenshots, explaining what you see, so we can have a visual as well? Also, is syncing up to date on your Dropbox app? You can hover…
-
Hey @"Frennys", thanks for posting to our Community. Would you mind sending over some screenshots of the changes you see? That way we can get a better understanding and a visual of what you mean. Thanks in advance!
-
Hey @"zekka82", thanks for the nudge on this. I've actually moved your post to the relevant thread. Would you mind letting me know which browser you're using and which version? Thanks.
-
Hey @"nikki6", welcome to the Dropbox Community. Did you receive an email about this? Did it say that your Dropbox is full? If you could send me a screenshot of that message, that'd be really helpful. Also, what do you see if you check the plan tab of your account settings? Do you see your extra space there? Keep me posted.
-
Hey @"JaneLH", thanks for joining our Community! Can you please guide me through the steps you followed for this? How did you add your files to your Dropbox account? And do you see that they're fully uploaded, when you look at your account online? Keep me posted and we'll go from there.
-
Hey @"mikeproducteng54", thanks for bringing this to our attention. Do you maybe have a screenshot of the error message you're getting? Also, is Dropbox currently installed on your computer and if so, what's the sync status of the app? You can see that by hovering over the Dropbox icon in your system tray with your mouse.…
-
Hey @"Jacintha" and @"sracinez", thank you both for bringing this to our attention. Can you give us some more info on what you see? Are you getting any error messages when trying to open the files? If so, please send over a screenshot, so we can check it out. Also, are you having this issue on all your PowerPoint files or…
-
Hey @"Megrstephens", thanks for coming to us with this. Can you double-check if you have the latest version of the Dropbox app? Do you see any updates in your app store? And is the alphabet slider currently working, but only for files? Or has it disappeared completely? Keep me posted.
-
Hey @"Beckydundee", sorry to jump in here. If I understood correctly, you want to download some Dropbox files to your computer, right? You can do so, by following the steps here.
-
Hey @"boonwd", thanks for letting us know about this. Would you mind sending over a screenshot, so we can check out the "small file cabinet" icon you mentioned? Also, is it possible that the files in question are currently in "online-only" state? If you right-click on them and choose to make them available offline, does it…
-
Hey @"achubb", thanks for posting to our Community. You are all members of a Dropbox Business team, right? Did the team admin look in the members tab in their admin console to see the state of this member? The admin can filter the members from the options on the right and, and if this particular member is suspended, they…

Hey @"Thamsanqa Xekiso", thanks for reaching out to us. Do you mind if I send you an email, so we can figure this out in private? Let me know!
-
Hey @"Sunny7", thanks for reaching out to the Dropbox Community. It sounds like you had enabled our backup feature on the Dropbox application, when you had it installed. This would have moved your desktop folders' paths to Dropbox. Can you try the steps in this thread, to move the paths of the desktop folders that are now…
-
Hey @"exx", how are you? When do you experience this issue? When you reboot your computer? Do you perhaps have an antivirus installed on your computer, that might also be looking into your Dropbox folder?
-
Thanks for keeping us in the loop, Katie! I'm glad that with Jay's help we were able to figure this out. You can read more about symlinks and this hidden Dropbox folder and instructions on what to do, here.

Thanks for the update, Amanda, no worries! Have you tried this from a different browser or an incognito window, to see if you get a different behavior?
