Hey @"Pine Man"! In general, Client Release Builds post automatically, but in this case, this was temporarily interrupted due to the recent forum update that took place this week. The team is looking into this, so the next build updates should resume soon. As for the latest stable build, this is 212.4.5767 indeed.

Hey @"Aumen"! Thanks for your post and the screenshot you’ve uploaded. Is this something you see across all browsers or in incognito mode? The owner of the shared link hasn't deleted the folder/file it links to in the meantime, correct? Let me know once you have more info.
-
@RonNL60, can we log a ticket for you as the next step? It’ll be easier to investigate this way.
-
Hi from me too, @"raniabys"! Do you mind if we log you a ticket and investigate internally? We can contact you to the email address you see here.
-
Hey @"Dtst", hope you don’t mind if I jump in. Have you looked into your email’s spam folder and there’s nothing there? Have you also double checked to make sure you have no other devices currently linked to your Dropbox account? If you do, you can look into the Notifications section for the one-time code. Another thing…

If relaunching your Finder didn’t help much, then I’d suggest performing an advanced reinstall next. Let me know if there’s any difference after that.
-
This is quite an odd behavior indeed, lotusadmin. If you don’t mind me asking, the new personal folders you’re creating to test this, are they located in your root Dropbox folder or are they saved within other folders? If the latter, please test this with a folder you’ve created directly in the root Dropbox and let me know…
-
Hi @"Kathy O", sorry to jump in. You can attach your screenshot here by clicking on the camera button, as shown below: The paperclip should allow you to attach links to the forum and not images/screenshots.
-
Hey @"MultiKoopa", thanks for your post. As a first, can you send me a screenshot of the pop-up you keep receiving? I want to have a visual and go from there. Let me know when you’re ready.
-
Thanks for the extra info, @"stuartstuart"! Appreciate all the details you’ve shared. Have you followed the steps provided here to perform an advanced reinstall?
-
It was my pleasure, @"Fabio C.", don’t mention it. If you need something else, I’ll be right here.
-
Thanks for letting us know about this here, @"stuartstuart". Can you clarify what you mean when saying the animation starts, but not your desktop app? Can you send me a screenshot of what you see to make sure I didn’t misunderstand anything? I’d also like to know what steps you’ve tried so far, so that we can try something…
-
Hey @"myguymo" and @"Patreon_JuanpiAMVs"! Thanks for reporting this here. Out of curiosity, is this happening for a specific folder on your account (for which you’ve created this shared link)? Have you generated shared links for other folders and you see the same thing? Have you both tried an incognito window? Let me know.
-
Can you send me a screenshot of what you see in your Finder > Dropbox folder?
-
@"Fabio C.", what do you see when following the steps I sent you previously? Can you send me a screenshot perhaps?
-
It’s possible! Due to the size of the folder, it could have taken longer to delete everything from our servers, but I’m glad all is settled now. I’ll be here, if you need something else.
-
Hey @"llanquin", sorry for jumping in. Can you clarify the current syncing status and app version of your Dropbox app?
-
Hi @"DLR1951", thanks for posting here today. Can you open an incognito window on your browser, access your shared link from there (without being logged into your Dropbox account) and send me an example screenshot of what you’re seeing? Feel free to send me a screenshot of what you see on your account as well, when…
-
Thanks for your post, @"WreckItTim1", and for trying all these troubleshooting steps. Can you test this via an incognito window to double check if the behavior persists there, as well? The issue could be lying in the folder’s size, like you also suggest. Another option would be to restore this folder instead and then…
-
Hi @"Alex Kasper", and thanks for posting here today. Are the files you’re referring to online-only perhaps? If yes, you need to select them, right-click on them and select the “Make available offline” option to sync them locally on your desktop app (to do this for all your Dropbox files, you can right-click on your local…
-
Thanks for posting on our forum, @"Fabio C."! To make sure I got it right, you’d like to connect your desktop app to your old Dropbox folder, so that it doesn’t re-download all your files from scratch. Correct? While signing in to the desktop app, and right before seeing the option to open your Dropbox folder, can you see…
-
Please check your email address, when you can, @"synnem", and reply to my email. See you there!
-
Hmm, did you also try deleting the shared link itself from the Shared tab here?
-
Hi @"andymadden"! Welcome to our forum. Before taking any actions on your Dropbox app, can you clarify its syncing status and app version? Other than that, I’d like you to compare the email address you see here with the one you see under the Account tab of your app preferences and let me know if they’re the exact same.…
-
Hi from me as well, @"be-each"! Can you send me a screenshot of the default sync settings you have under your Sync tab here, so that I can take a look? I’m unable to access the screen recording you sent us above, unfortunately.
-
Hi @"gyanarthi", hope you don’t mind if I chime in. To back up your website to Dropbox, are you using a specific third-party app/plugin? You don't upload your backups to Dropbox manually each time, correct?
-
Hi from me as well, @"CarlW". After taking a look at your screenshot, this looks like a network share, which is generally unsupported when it comes to accessing the Dropbox folder on your device. As a result, I’m afraid we can’t provide much here, but I’ll leave this thread open in case any other user has had similar…
-
Hi from me too, @"Unknown abstracts"! Just to clarify, did you set your entire Dropbox folder as online-only? Can you right-click on the Dropbox folder now, go to “Get info” and send me a screenshot of the next window you’ll get?
-
Thanks for these screenshots, @"rsrunique"! This is interesting, indeed. Are you having trouble deleting any other files on your Dropbox account? Or just the ones associated with the shared link you sent out? You can also try uploading a small file to your Dropbox account and see if you can delete it after that.
-
Hi @"synnem". Can we log a ticket for you at the email address you see here?
