Dropbox cannot delete files unless its told to do so. It simply isn't possible. Theres a few things that could be the issue here. Firstly remember Dropbox is a syncing tool. So what you do to the files in Dropbox replicate everywhere to all other connected computers and devices. That means if you edit files on machine A it…

Pahan737 wrote:Maybe there are other ways to recover early files (deleted 2-3 years ago)? No, it isnt possible at all I'm afraid. If you were a paid user at the time of deletion you could have up to a year of recover. However, if you were a free user its 30 days and this isn't changeable. It also isn't possible to pay to…

theCollaborative wrote:is there a way to make it so all pdf's are marked as make available offline all at once( have as a default) so that the user does not have to do this for each pdf file Individually. Unfortunately there isnt. It is set per folder and there isn't a way to alter this :( Sorry

Its very unlikely you will be able to do so. See https://help.dropbox.com/account-access/lost-email-access for info and contact support via www.dropbox.com/support. Do so while not logged in - even to here. So use an incognito window. Out of interest, how long ago did you last log on? If it was over 12 months your files…

Dropbox uses up the space of all people within it who have files on an account, so, if you dont pay then your quota will be 2gb (or thereabouts) and so you need to leave some shares, delete files (careful though as if in a share it will delete them for everybody) or get more space via an upgrade.

Best thing to do is have a read of the API instructions, or, if you arent sure ask for help via the API Forums.

thedefaultman wrote:Is there a way to do that? Simply put.... no. Apps decide where they create folders and are often locked to that one place. The only people who can change where it locates, and for it to still work, are the people who develop the app

Annakana wrote:Should there not have been a warning ? There are multiple warnings if its due to be deleted over many many months. Have you checked the email used for the account is identical to the one you initially signed up for? Usually if this happens you arent asked to create a new one - it just auto does it.
-
Thats how it works if you delete in bulk I'm afraid. A work around to this would be to go to the location where the files were initially, click on 'Show Deleted Items' and then restore the folders individually

Dropbox doesnt work with NAS drives no, unfortunately. You'd need to find a way to download locally to C: and then copy over. Or, some NAS manufactures have software which allows a sync to occur.

Dropbox cannot charge you if you didnt give them your card information or somebody stole your card info. So, if you DID give it your info, for example, for a trial you didn't cancel, the charges are genuine. You can look up what account the payment is set up with via…

That isnt a Dropbox file, it sounds like you are using a work device? And if so that file is part of the security software/settings of the employer to help detect unauthorised access and use. Have a look at https://help.eset.com/glossary/en-US/canary_file.html

Hi :) Are you using the website to run the Presentation as a preview? If so it does lower the quality of the files (and this depends upon which plan you are on). However, if you download it and play it then it should run perfectly fine and back to original resolutions.

You need to turn off Camera Uploads to stop this - you must have accidentally clicked yes one time.

Seems like this is happening pretty wide spread The number of people who actually set up a second account by accident is horrific. Like its totally and utterly bonkers! Accounts do not just 'vanish' (unless you haven't logged in for over 12 months, but, if this is the case you are warned many, many times it will be wiped).

To add to what has been said here, this is technically correct..... However, Google is awkward in that you can use any punctuation before the @ sign and change gmail to googlemail and…

It sounds like either Quickbooks is OPEN and so it cannot sync, or, Quickbooks has moved the location of the file to outside of the Dropbox folder - have you checked where its saved?

You need to contact support via www.dropbox.com/support for help. Do this while not logged in, even to here. Using an incognito window usually helps. How long is it since your last log on? If its over 12 months the data would have been deleted anyway I'm afraid due to inactivity. In terms of support, however, it is very…

Are you sure that error is from Dropbox and not your computer hard drive? If you did a copy command do you have enough HARD drive space? Also, is that a paid for account as space is restricted on free trials - although I'm sure its more than a few TB.

Pleased its sorted. Its important to note that this wasn't a Dropbox issue (this place would be overran with people posting if it was!), however, my guess as its resolved when home is that the files simply weren't given enough time to upload at home before you disconnected/shut down. Its a simple mistake to make but can…

fortinne wrote:Now Dropbox is creating a new Dropbox folder and downloading all of my files. Did you tell Dropbox when setting up the install to use the already created directory? You usually need to do this via the Advanced Install menu options.

These have to be created via the website: https://help.dropbox.com/share/create-file-request

Whats the issue exactly? Are you not getting the code to enter? Is it failing if you enter it? Do you not have access to the email address to get the code? В чем именно проблема? Вы не получаете код для ввода? Он не проходит, если вы его вводите? У вас нет доступа к адресу электронной почты, чтобы получить код?
