Is Dropbox running on your machine? However, if it ISNT and you have had a drive disconnect you probably want to backup what is stored locally first as there is a very, very good chance it will wipe things. If it is running what does it say if you mouse over its icon on the status bar.

Believe me - I'd love a smaller plan, but, I also use some of the other things. However, Dropbox as a company need to remain profitable to stay in business. If they dont they wont - and cutting income has been shown that it wont increase profits or revenue.

Rashy90 wrote:Offering an additional 50-100GB option for 1-2$ wouldn't hurt your 2TB+ sales, but bring you new customers! It does and it has. As Dropbox has repeatedly said they are not a storage solution (like iCloud or OneDrive). They are a complete solution online with way more functionality.

DexterJ wrote:I sent off an email to support. Dropbox doesnt have a support email address unfortunately. All you can do is contact support via www.dropbox.com/support while not logged in - even to here, so, use an incognito window which will let you contact about account issues.

Sounds like you havent actually joined a shared folder but instead agreed to move your data in to a Teams (Business) account. Contact the Admin of the account for help. They need to REMOVE (note not delete!!) you from the Team: https://help.dropbox.com/account-access/delete-member

You could try rolling back the Dropbox folder via www.dropbox.com/events and Dropbox Rewind.
-
You need to ask the manufacturers of the software for assistance. The Dropbox servers are fine, but, its more than likely API keys or links have changed or broken - at various points these need updating/changing etc. and if a developer doesn't do this the link fails. The "token not ready" error confirms this. A quick fix…

Out of interest is the file / application still open?

Once an account is deleted it is not possible to recover the data from Dropbox - you are warned this multiple times before you can delete an account. If you created a business account and merged the personal one in to it (again you are warned, and almost forced, to try and set up a new account) it MAY be possible to…

There is no search function available on links that I'm aware of. So, if you want it on your Dropbox you'll need to upgrade. OR ask for a transfer/download link and download it all to your machine and use Finder/Explorer etc. to search the downloaded content instead

Warren J. wrote:(1) It deletes files I have downloaded to Dropbox for safekeeping without my knowledge or permission. Dropbox cannot do that. It simply does not have the code to do so. This is still only possible on paid accounts at certain levels: https://help.dropbox.com/security/physical-location-data-storage

Does it work if the file is downloaded and say opened from the Desktop instead of the Dropbox directory?

Are you sure you are logged in to the right account? What is www.dropbox.com/events showing? How did you pay? If it was credit card use https://help.dropbox.com/billing/find-credit-card-charge to see what account was upgraded.
-
You will need to open a new one at www.dropbox.com/support while not logged in (even here!) so use an incognitor window. In that include the other ticket number so they can cross reference it, however, they may not be able to assist now if you are not paying - that support system is mainly only for account log on issues.
-
Its almost certain you've upgraded a different account Use https://help.dropbox.com/billing/find-credit-card-charge to see what account it is using the info from your card statement.

As has been said - its www.dropbox.com/suppport. There is no phone or email support, it is all via that link.

What version of Dropbox you using? Mouse over it to find out Have you tried a reboot etc.? Do you have enough quota and hard drive space?

Hopefully somebody will spot it from Dropbox here tomorrow and offer some help.
