Make sure you are at www.dropbox.com/home And in the corner of the screen you get the following as an option: If you dont see it can you post a screenshot of what you do see?
-
Hi Brian, Unfortunately as annoying as it is there is no way to do this :(
-
@"db-bill" - may I suggest you also post that on the main thread thats been discussing this? Thanks :)

Seems to be taking a long time to instigate a reindex upon waking up on my MacBook pro

My money is on the WD software. Dropbox, like most other tools like this, doesnt play well when other applications are trying to lock files etc. its using. The way I can think of seeing where these files are is to go to your Dropbox folder on your machine, click on them and look to see where shows a syncing file (i.e. blue…

Hi Adsummers Dropbox is simply replicating whatever is happening within the Dropbox folder, so, something on your computer is creating those files. Are you doing any coding by any chance? Or do you have your browsers cache etc. inside of the Dropbox folder to sync?
-
It isnt possible no, sorry, but its a good suggestion - I'll make sure its passed on. As a possible work around have you looked at Paper? You can comment and tag individual parts of files and then simply add the new version underneath? www.dropbox.com/paper

I'll move it to the API forum for you then :) Youre much more likely to get a reply there
-
Hi dbx, Is this via the API for an app you are developing?
-
Dropbox only displays a preview of files as Rich said. If it isnt working and you need to see the proper version I'm afraid the only thing to do is download the file and open it in a compatible app (Adobe etc.)
-
Unfortunately word4life thats something you need to ask Apple as it is their format on their own beta. Its been a bit of shock to everybody else the new format so the only people who can really help are Apple themselves.
-
Im afraid there is no way of doing this. The website simply displays a preview of the file. To be able to change the settings of files as it plays you'll need to download it first.
-
Is this on Dropbox.com?
-
Leo, you can do exactly the same with Shared links. Simply get a link to whatever folder the results are in, share that out and when people click on it they can go to whatever file/s they want within the folder. https://www.dropbox.com/help/167 Also. Just to keep things in one place I'm going to close this thread. For any…

DWMT, Nobody will ever know for sure, but, looking at the version numbers etc. I'd say you are looking at about a fortnight. That being said I know Ross is very good and I'd expect that build to be stable enough to use and fix this issue. (Note, I dont work for Dropbox so things may change, the above is based on my…

Hi Evert_k You can use the advance install to move the Dropbox *folder* (ie. the one being sync'd) to another drive, however, you cannot move the installation folder I'm afraid. It will automatically default to the Programs folder.

Depends upon what you did to the Business Account and how long ago. A request to delete an account does exactly that - deletes it and the data with it. The only way to know for sure though is contact support at www.dropbox.com/support and then track at http://dropbox.zendesk.com. Note that replies will take at least a few…

Please see and post all follow ups over at https://www.dropboxforum.com/t5/Sharing-and-collaboration/Ending-support-of-public-folder/m-p/197906#M11718 to keep everything in one place.

Hey The issue is that you are downloading from the website, so, in fact a new file is being made. If you want to get everything with the original dates you need to download and install Dropbox on to your computer via www.dropbox.com/downloading. That will create a folder on your computer and download everything in your…

The Operating Systems are listed at the bottom of the help article. I, however, would suggest doing an advanced reinstall to see if that helps: https://www.dropbox.com/help/desktop-web/advanced-reinstall
-
It does show how to relink if you choose the OS. How do you mean it isnt doing anything? Is it running or not?
-
Yes. Until the 1st of Sept. they are valid and will work. From that date on, however, anybody who clicks on them will get an error. Also, to keep everything in one place I'm closing this thread (if I merge the formatting will go odd) but would ask further comments etc. go to the larger one on the issue:…

You wont get an official reason I'm afraid. The only thing we know is its going and this is the date its happening. Also, to keep everything in one place I'm closing this thread (if I merge the formatting will go odd) but would ask further comments etc. go to the larger one on the issue:…

Follow https://www.dropbox.com/help/mobile/unlink-relink-computer-mobile Or, another way is to reinstall Dropbox from www.dropbox.com/downloading

Hi Horrorstead, You should be saving in to that Dropbox folder which you access via the Dropbox app on the computer. Usually it installs to \Users\*your username\Dropbox (Personal)\ can you see that?
-
I suggest googling Ameejade... thats not something you can do with Dropbox and it is very OS dependent.
-
Ouch :( Lesson learnt the hard way - always check what you are doing (and dont assume) and have secondary backups.
-
Two things.... if you waited until a green tick they will be recoverable from within Dropbox (moving them in to the Dropbox folder does not upload them - that takes time after that). So they may be recoverable.... possibly unlikely though if nothing appears on Events etc. as it sounds like you simply havent given it time.…
