It is fraud. Simple as. It is against the terms and conditions to refer yourself. It is also a requirement that its installed on a UNIQUE computer. Worryingly, you have just admitted to doing on their own forum. Will be interesting to see if your account is now investigated.... There are plenty of threads on here about…

Please do not do B - Dropbox have, and do, on a regular basis remove space acquired like that. They also do not just remove the space acquired via the fraud but all of your acquired space.

www.dropbox.com/gs ? www.dropbox.com/referral ?
-
If you are a paying Business user, yes. If you are not then no. I suggest following the guides on here, or, logging a ticket at www.dropbox.com/support and tracking at http://dropbox.zendesk.com

Oh wwandy how we'd all love that!

*moves to API forum*

Out of interest @"MVIN" what is the app?
-
Unfortunately the website isnt designed to resume interrupted downloads. It may be worth, however, trying a different browser and seeing if that helps?
-
And I was right! We are at v40 without any clue as to what has changed within the past 30 versions :(
-
I actually think its really sad that Dropbox have totally and utterly killed the whole beta community they'd built up (while alienating and lying to customers) over the whole change log thing. I also think its madness they've got to nearly v40 without hardly ANY improvements or new features within the clients!

What exactly is the issue Rochellehubbar2?
-
Youre welcome! :)
-
I stand by what I said two versions ago.... no change log as no changes.
-
Few things to remember -Dropbox do NOT support symlinks so if things go wrong you are on your own -Disconnecting an external drive while Dropbox is running can cause mass-deletion of data -Symlinks as above will only sync once upon every boot up/reindex. It wont 'real time' sync.
-
Nothing if not predictable ;o)

I have to be honest and say I've not seen any other posts about IFTTT on here apart from this one. The only other time I've seen it mentioned is people asking for recipes to use with it
-
@"jrtinz" - the issue is that nobody at Dropbox can alter or change anything from a third party supplier. So, nobody can change what is happening with IFTTT.
-
Dropbox itself has never done that (sadly). The only way it did that was if, as Rich said, you moved locations etc.
-
Why not feature request a change then? https://www.dropboxforum.com/t5/Share-an-idea/ct-p/101002000 :)
-
Hannah - for the website there is no way to stop uploads. The website is designed as a stopgap for when you are not at your computer with dropbox installed. kdwpilgrim - dont use the website then, use the desktop software as suggested. All you then do is move the files out of the Dropbox folder. www.dropbox.com/downloading

Follow www.dropbox.com/help/296 and www.dropbox.com/events

Could you try and advanced reinstall using https://www.dropboxforum.com/t5/Desktop-client-builds/Stable-Build-38-4-27/m-p/250586/highlight/false#M4411 ?
-
@"Wayne S.22" Nothing has changed I'm sure bar the version number hence the lack of release notes.
-
@"clientreleases" wrote: The desktop client is regularly updated with many improvements and fixes. Like? I cant think of any improvments (visible ones at least) in the past 25 or so releases.
-
Which version of Dropbox?

For that price you havent just accidentally taken a yearly subscription, you've taken out a business one on a yearly plan. You need to contact support at www.dropbox.com/support which you can then track at http://dropbox.zendesk.com to get it resolved, if it is possible to.
-
Anything you send on the internet can be downloaded on to another persons machine - regardless of what sort of protection sites claim to do. If its really that critical it isnt downloaded then dont send it via the web.
-
Personally all I'm going to say is 'Dropbox does not support symlinks' and thats for a very good reason - the risk of data loss. Because of that I havent used them I'm afraid. I dont think what you want to do will work if its a share, but, may do if nothing is shared. As I said you should put the files inside Dropbox and…

Simply close Dropbox, or, move the files out of the Dropbox folder on your computer.

We need more info.... on what device?
