  • Dropbox uploads in size order - from smallest to largest. This is also across all directories within your Dropbox folder structure. So while it would be possible to make it upload in that order it would be quite difficult and time consuming to do so
  • No..... ? That was the answer to your question. There is no way to have the file within the Dropbox folder and not have it sync. What you are trying to achieve is very likely to result in data loss. Hence my initial post saying 'dont do it'.
  • There isnt erikmoore I'm afraid.
  • Its *strongly* recommended you do not sync database files (which include email ones)... Partially for this reason - I assume that you have Outlook open? If so Dropbox cannot sync it. Outlook puts a lock on the PST files so that only it can access them, however Dropbox also needs the same. You are also looking at a very…
  • Dropbox doesnt alter the files, however, your browser may well try and force an extension on a file - like .jpg to be 'helpful'. What happens if you just ignore the extension on the file as it downloads and replace it with .raw? [This thread is now closed by moderators due to inactivity. If you're experiencing a similar…
  • You are given emergency ways to access when you set up 2FA gypped - they are in the form of 16 digit passwords. Unfortunately though you told Dropbox to not allow anybody access to your account without either the 2FA code OR one of those 16 digit pin numbers. You cannot now expect the company to change that when they've no…
  • I cant see why it wouldnt be possible zhp3nn, but, I suggest looking at https://www.dropbox.com/developers and if you want to clarify anything post on the API forums as the guys there are great: https://www.dropboxforum.com/t5/API-support/bd-p/101000014
  • I have no answers I'm afraid, however, I'm merging it with another thread that I know the Dropbox team are aware of and working on.
  • Unfortunately the moves from external hard drive to Dropbox are the same if you are using web as this thread If you are moving to desktop folder the issue is that the move is handled by your OS so it is that which would need to restart it.
  • Ah, he has sent you a shared folder rather than a shared link. Shared folders allow for collaboration which if you only want to download you the other person needs to send you a link only. https://www.dropbox.com/help/files-folders/shared-links
  • You are clicking on 'Add to Dropbox' instead of 'Download'. You wont be able to add to your Dropbox if you dont have the quota, so, you'll need to choose the Download only options. You may need to click on the three dots [...] to see that option, and you will need to do each file individually.
  • @"clientreleases" wrote: Thanks for using Dropbox! The desktop client is regularly updated with many improvements and fixes. As its Christmas do you not fancy telling us (pretending even!) what some of these 'improvments and fixes' are?!
  • @"Kalbir" I'm not sure what the point of the Home page is actually, but, I seriously doubt it will ever include Photo functionality like you are all talking about I'm afraid - as similar things to what you've mentioned have not long since been removed from Dropbox's website. Sadly as well @"ayeshaji" and @"calledhandid" -…
  • Speak to your email provider about changing from what I assume is a POP3 server to an IMAP or Exchange one. [This thread is now closed by moderators due to inactivity. If you're experiencing a similar behavior, feel free to start a new discussion in the Find Answers section here. ]
  • Im afraid I do know exactly what Thunderbird is. It, however, shouldnt reside in Dropbox as email clients (not just Thunderbird but Outlook et al) are not intended to be in them. You would still need Thunderbird to use servers for syncing as Thunderbird is only a way of viewing the emails.
  • @"Scott y.1" wrote:I can't move individual pics or folders from online dropbox to my i-photo either. Super frustrating. Thats because you cannot just drag things from web pages in to applications - same as any program. The files need to physically exist on the computer first so you need to download them and THEN put them…
  • The issue I'm afraid is that the two are simply not designed to play well together - as Dropbox cannot work if Thunderbird is accessing the files. Also, remember that correctly configured email setups mean you dont need to sync anything as its done at server level for you (IMAP server)
  • It is fraud. Simple as. It is against the terms and conditions to refer yourself. It is also a requirement that its installed on a UNIQUE computer. Worryingly, you have just admitted to doing on their own forum. Will be interesting to see if your account is now investigated.... There are plenty of threads on here about…
  • Please do not do B - Dropbox have, and do, on a regular basis remove space acquired like that. They also do not just remove the space acquired via the fraud but all of your acquired space.
  • www.dropbox.com/gs ? www.dropbox.com/referral ?
  • If you are a paying Business user, yes. If you are not then no. I suggest following the guides on here, or, logging a ticket at www.dropbox.com/support and tracking at http://dropbox.zendesk.com
  • Oh wwandy how we'd all love that!
  • *moves to API forum*
  • Out of interest @"MVIN" what is the app?
  • Unfortunately the website isnt designed to resume interrupted downloads. It may be worth, however, trying a different browser and seeing if that helps?
  • And I was right! We are at v40 without any clue as to what has changed within the past 30 versions :(
  • I actually think its really sad that Dropbox have totally and utterly killed the whole beta community they'd built up (while alienating and lying to customers) over the whole change log thing. I also think its madness they've got to nearly v40 without hardly ANY improvements or new features within the clients!
  • What exactly is the issue Rochellehubbar2?
